Family Genealogy forum for Carcar, Cebu, Philippines

VISION/MISSION:

We see a Carcar hundreds of years hence able to trace its family trees back 15, even more generations. It is thus our group's goal to compile and integrate family trees of as many Carcar families as possible. A hard copy of everything we shall be able to accomplish here will then be bequeathed to a rightful depository in the town, rightful by which we mean an organization most ready, willing, and best able to take care of these fruits of our labor. (Because as those who are still starting to construct their trees will painfully find out, Man, ye shall labor.)

It will be up to future Carcaranons to preserve and update this project started with the best of hopes in the year 2007. Time, we know, shall provide for the technology, but their spirit shall provide for the care with which they shall treasure these.

As things are then, this site will be the first working place and Archives for Carcar family trees. Because of the dual purpose, those interested to see, or most especially, contribute their own trees shall be most welcome as Members.

RULES:

As our group becomes larger and the message volume increases exponentially, the need to rein in our own selves becomes more urgent. Towards that end we should refrain from:

1. Forwarding a message posted by a member to non-members without the express permission of the author and/or moderator. This removes any cause for future embarrassment.

2. Starting a thread that strays from our purpose: Carcar genealogy and family history. We should not wake up one day to read an exchange, no matter how earnest, which deodorant works best, even if for Carcar underarms.

3. Recommending our site for narrower purposes than general family history, such as pedigree-ing mail order brides or civil partnerships.

And worst,

4. Pedigreeing each other for purposes of snobbery.
