The concept of Freecycle™ is simple: you have something you no longer need (clothing, computer supplies, furniture, anything) and you wish to "recycle" it rather than throw it away. Or you are looking for a specific item (clothing, computer supplies, furniture, anything), and you don't mind getting it free. The Lehighton/Carbon County Freecycle Network is the place where you can post notices about the items you'd like to give away as well as things that you need. The only catch is that it has to be FREE! (Also nothing Illegal or Adult-oriented can be posted!) Through Lehighton/Carbon County Freecycle, we can help the environment by helping to cut down on waste going into landfills while also helping members of our communities here in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. Charitable organizations in the region are encouraged to participate, as well. Our geographic region covers the entire Carbon County. We try to limit our membership to those who live,work, or regularly travel to Carbon County, or within about a 30 miles radius from the county. We do have a few rules that you must follow in order to participate in the online group, so be sure to read those before posting your first message. (You'll get a summary by e-mail when you join the group and also every 2 weeks by e-mail or just ask the moderator to send you a copy) Be sure to check out the Worldwide Freecycle Network at http://www.freecycle.org for more information on the Freecycle movement. Everybody has something they want to get rid of, so instead of dragging it out to the curb and filling the landfills, why not connect to someone who probably wants what you have!
