Hello! I wanted to let everyone know about some cool events coming up and some
good
news.

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, I'll be introducing one of my all-time favorite films
"Philadelphia
Story" at the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. The event begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets
to see the film are $7.50 or you can come to the fun reception they are having
for me after
the film for $20 and hang out with the cool people. It will be a fun night, and
if you
haven't seen that film, please do.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, I'll be teaching a condensed version of our Dream Big,
Write Big
seminar at the Hurst Public Library at 7 p.m. in Hurst, Texas, with my friend
Britta
Coleman ("Potter Springs"). This seminar is sort of everything you need to know
about
publishing a book in an hour.

On Saturday, Feb. 18, I'll be in Shreveport, La., teaching Fast Draft to the
Romance Writer's
of America Chapter there, NOLA. These meetings are usually open to the public
and it
takes place at the El Chico's there beginning at 10 a.m. Fast Draft is where I
teach writers
how to get that first draft down in only two weeks.

Even though it doesn't happen until March 4, I want to make you aware of a
really cool
event. Jodi Thomas ("The Texan's Reward"), Jennifer Archer ("The Me I Used to
Be"), "Britta
Coleman ("Potter Springs"), Laurie Moore ("Constable's Wedding"), Sarah Clark
Jordan ("The
Bossqueen, Little BigBark, and the Sentinel Pup") and me, Candy Havens ("Charmed
&
Dangerous"), will be signing our books at the Lewisville, Texas Barnes & Noble
from 2-4
p.m. It's ask an author day, so you can come and ask us anything. (Well, almost
anything.)

Good News! My editor told me she thought the title "Charmed & Deadly" would be
good
for the third Bronwyn book. I have to agree. I'd thought about "Charmed &
Wicked," but I

Coming up on Saturday, March 4, I'll be participating in the Ask the Author

answering
questions and signing books. This is a great group of authors, and even better,

On Friday, March 31, from 7- 9 p.m., I'm a part of a huge multi-author event at

Holiday Inn in Richardson. It's a part of the Dreamin' in Dallas convention, but
the book
signing Friday night is open to the public. I hope you'll come out and see me.

Great news for "Charmed & Dangerous." The book was nominated in two
categories, Best First Book and Strong Romantic Elements, for a RITA.
The awards are basically the Oscars for the romance industry. :-)

be signing "C&D" and there will be about 30 other authors signing
their books. It's located at the Holiday Inn Select, at Campbell and

Hey Gang,

Happy May to you all! There's so much going on this month. The big
news is Charmed & Dangerous has been nominated for two RITA's, a Holt
Medallion and a Write Touch Readers Award. How exciting is that? The
RITAs are the top honors in the romance industry, and I can't tell you
how happy I am that the book is receiving such wonderful recognition.

I signed a new contract with Berkley to do two more Bronwyn books.
Charmed & Deadly is the third book (I'm working on it now.) and I'm
thinking about using Charmed & Wicked for the fourth title. Do you
have some ideas for titles? E-mail me at (tvscoop@...) and
if I use yours, I'll send you an autographed book.

Don't forget you can preorder "Charmed & Ready," the second Bron book,
on Amazon.com. Those preorders help me out a lot and don't forget to

Can you believe it's summer? It's hot here in Texas, and I keep
thinking I really need to work hard to make these books successful so
I can get a summer home in Alaska. J On Tuesday, June 20 (My birthday)
I turn in "Charmed & Deadly," which is the third book in the Bronwyn
series. I've worked really hard on it and am crossing fingers (and
toes, which isn't easy) that my editor likes it.

There are a couple of opportunities for you guys to come out and
visit. On Saturday, June 17, from 4-6 p.m. at the Borders Express in
Collin Creek mall in Plano, Texas, I'll be signing "Charmed &
Dangerous." Shanna Swendson will also be there and I love her books
"Enchanted, Inc." and "Once Upon a Stilettos." Since my birthday is
only a few days away, treats will be involved. J

On Saturday, June 24, several RITA (Those are the top awards in the
romance industry) authors including, Stephanie Feagan, Jane
Graves/Jane Sullivan, Vickie Taylor, Julie London and myself will be
there. It's a chance to meet some really wonderful authors. The event
takes place at the North Richland Hills, Texas, Barnes & Noble, from
2-4 p.m.

I need your help with the second book. Everyone tells me that word of
mouth is the best way to sell books. So, if you liked "Charmed &
Dangerous" please tell all of your friends, and let them know the
second book, "Charmed & Ready," is coming out September 5. Make sure

Hey Gang,

Lots of crazy things happening this month. I'm out in Los Angeles right now at
the TV
Critics Press Tour interviewing all of the celebs for the new season. So far
I've talked with
everyone from Mr. T. and Oded Fehr, to Fantasia Barrino and Dan Rather. Today I
spoke
with Ray Liotta, Virginia Madsen, Simon Bakker and a bunch of other folks. You
can check

day.
It's a great place for you to talk to me one-on-one about anything, and to keep
up with
what's going on.

At the end of the month I'll be flying out to Atlanta for Romance Writers of
America
convention. If you don't know, "Charmed & Dangerous" is up for two awards in the
Best
First Book and Mainstream with Strong Romantic Elements categories in the RITAs.
The
RITAs are like the Oscars of the romance industry. That ceremony takes place on
Saturday,
July 29, so think happy thoughts for me that day.

Keep checking the blog for information about reviews for the new book "Charmed &
Ready." I just heard that it received five out of five for the Romance Divas,
and I can't wait
to read the review. Romance Junkies have also done a positive review it should
be up on
their site soon. I'm also interviewing an amazing array of authors on the blog
and you

Please remember it's not too early to go ahead and order "Charmed & Ready,"
which is out
Sept. 5. Ask your local booksellers to order it. These early sales mean so much

Hello!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for fall. I love the crisp
weather; the lovely pumpkin smells and the snuggly warm sweaters. It
always makes me want to run out and buy school supplies, even if I
don't need them.

It's hard to believe that in just one week, Tuesday, Sept. 5, the
second book "Charmed & Ready" hits bookshelves. I can't wait for you
to read it. This time around Bronwyn has her hands full protecting a
rock star, who creates big problems for her relationship with Sam.

Can you believe the month is almost over? Geez, time is flying. I

Some very exciting news from my editor this week. She's approved a

all of the proceeds go to a woman's shelter. All of the authors,

I can't believe summer is over and we are well into fall. Time passes
so fast. There's been a lot going on the last few months, and I wanted
to tell you about everything.

I've been working on a new series about the Caruthers Sisters, who are
powerful Guardians of earth. They also happen to be socialites. One
minute they may be at a grand ball, the next they're fighting demons.
I'm having a great time with these characters they're so much fun. I
don't have a release yet for the first book, or even a title to be
honest, but it should come out some time in 2009, if not earlier.

I'm incredibly excited about the release of "Charmed & Dangerous" in
mass market paperback. If you haven't seen the new cover it's on my
website www.candacehavens.com and is available for pre-order on
amazon.com. That debuts Dec. 4, 2007, and we need to sell a zillion
copies. The reason is, if we do I'll get to write more Bronwyn books.
(Smile). So buy them for everyone you know, they'll make great Holiday
gifts.

Just in time for Valentine's will be the release of "Like A Charm,"
which features Bronwyn's best friend Kira. You get to see how she
ended up in Sweet, and how her relationship with Caleb began. It's
another story full of magic and I hope you'll love reading it, as much
as I loved writing it.

Also in February is the release of the anthology "Dreams and Desires:
A Collection of Romance and Erotic Tales II." The proceeds from the
sale of the books go to women's shelters. (The authors are taking no
form of payment so that all the money can go to the shelters.) The

Happy Holidays! I can't believe it's that time of year again. I'm way
behind on the shopping, but that's nothing new. I've been busy
writing. I just turned in the first book of a new series. It's titled
"The Demon King and I," and it's the story of four sisters who protect
our world from others, all while keeping up appearances on the red
carpet and living seemingly glamorous lives. That was is out in
November 2008.

The big news this month is the mass-market release of CHARMED &
DANGEROUS. I've only been in trade size before, so this is a big deal
for me. I know many of you have already read the book, but maybe you
could pick it up for a holiday gift. (Smile) Just help me get the word
out so I can write more Bronwyn books!  It's available on amazon.com,
bn.com and target.com.

We had a lot of fun with this, so I'm going to do it again. If you see
my new book (check out the cover on candacehavens.com) in a bookstore,

Hey Gang,

I've heard from several of you who have already found the new release
"Like A Charm" in your local bookstores. It's official release date is
tomorrow, and I can't wait for you guys to read it. This was one of
those projects that turned into so much more than I thought it was
going to be in the beginning. Funny how that happens. (smile) I loved
Kira before when she was interacting with Bronwyn, but now I love her
even more.

I also spend more time in the magical town of Sweet, a place where I'd
really like to live some day. And I can't forget her hot love
interest, Caleb. Did you know that originally he was going to be
Bronwyn's love interest in that first book "Charmed & Dangerous"? As I
wrote those characters I realized they had more of a friend vibe than
anything. Then along came Azir and Sam, and I knew what I had to do.

COLLECTION OF ROMANTIC TALES, VOL. 2). Shannon and I both have stories
in the anthology and the proceeds of that one go to help womens'

Hey Gang,

Thank you to those of you who showed up for the book signing on
Saturday. It was an incredible success. I also appreciate the well
wishes from those of you a little too far away to attend.

I wanted to let you know that I'll be in San Antonio this weekend. On
Saturday, Feb. 16, I'll be meeting with readers/writers in the lobby
of the Hilton Palacio del Rio, at 11:30 a.m. From there we will
probably try to do lunch. Come join us if you can, and let me know at
tvscoop@... if you plan to be there. I'm happy to sign
books, and I'll make sure I have some bookmarks for you too.

Also, I thought about making a stop in Austin on the way home Sunday.
If there's a bookstore you guys know of right off 35 and you'd like to
meet, let me know.

Hi Everyone!

I'll be in Austin April 25-26. I'll be signing books on Friday, April
25, from 5:30 - 8, at the Omni Hotel Downtown (700 San Jacinto at 8th
Street) in the Longhorn room on the 3rd floor. There will be about 30

I wanted to send a quick note to let you know I am alive, I've just
been working on the second book in the Caruthers' Sisters series. :-)

If you want something fun, check out our round robin fairy tale at

a day and we add to the story as it goes along. Mine is up today, but
go back down to Kate Austins' on that first day so you can read the
whole thing. It's so much fun.

I'm headed to NYC tomorrow morning. Any of you up there who would like

six days with my son who is in a big opera competition.

Hey Everyone,
Hope you are having a fab summer. I'm out in L.A. covering the new TV
season. You can keep up with my daily interviews and activities with

I try to let you know who I'll be talking to the next day in case you
have any questions.

On to books... CHARMED & READY comes out in mass market on Aug. 5. If
these books do well in mass market, I will get to revisit Bronwyn's
story. I don't know about you guys, but I miss her.

And the new series beginning with THE DEMON KING AND I debuts Nov. 4.
I can't wait for you guys to read that one. The cover, which you can
see on www.candacehavens.com is my all-time favorite cover ever.

If you are interested in writing, you need to check out the yahoo
group under the workshops tab on my website. The Write_Workshop is
free and I bring in authors, editors and agents, as well as myself
teaching all kinds of writing classes.

I can't believe the end of July is almost here! The summer is flying
by so fast. I'm still out on the west coast, but I've changed
locations. I'm in San Francisco, and I don't think they even know what
summer is here. The weather is so amazing. I see why people pay the
big bucks to live here.

If you're in the area I'd love to see you at the big literacy book
signing. It begins this Wednesday from 5:30 - 7:30,  at the San
Francisco Marriott (55 Fourth St.) in the Yerba Buena Ballroom. I'll
be there along with Rosemary Clement Moore and Gena Showalter, as well
as about 200 other authors.If you're in the vicinity please come
support a great cause.

Also, I have a new release coming out. Well, actually it's a mass
market release of Charmed & Ready. It debuts Tuesday, Aug. 5, and I
need you to help me get the word out. You guys know that word of mouth
is the number one way we sell books, and you've been so wonderful to
me in the past. If we sell a lot of Charmed & Ready, I might get to do
more Bronwyn and Kira books!

I can't believe we are well into September. This year is FLYING by.
I've spent the last two weeks traveling around the Dallas/Fort Worth
area autographing books at most of the major chain stores. (I plan on
hitting the independents soon.)

I don't know about you, but it isn't fall for me without my Autumn
Wreath and Cinnamon Yankee candles. As it gets closer to the holidays
I pull out the pumpkin pie and vanilla. (That's making me hungry.)
Scent can really set a mood, and you'll notice that in most of my
Bronwyn books candles/scents are important.

I wanted to let you know a few things. First of all I'm blogging all
this week about television. For those of you who don't know, I'm a
TV/Film Critic by day, Authoress by night. :-) I'm telling you what I
like so far and what I'm looking forward to. Come on and visit and you
can ask questions and possibly win a free book. You can get to my
livejournal and myspace blogs at www.candacehavens.com. I've also
joined Twitter.com so if you're curious at all what I'm doing during
the day that's a good place to find out.

I'm also visiting at dearreader.com (click on Like A Charm and it will

For those of you in the Denver area, I'm going to be there the weekend
of Sept. 19, and teaching a class for Heart of Denver Romance Writers
on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9:30-1 p.m. at the First Universalist
Church, 4101 E. Hampden Ave., Denver, Co. 80222-7262. I don't think it
cost anything to go to the meeting, or there may be nominal fee, you
can check on their website (http://www.hodrw.com). I had planned to
visit with family there after the conference/class, but they have
their own conference to go to. So, if you're in the area and you'd

love to see/meet you so come say hi, and I'm more than happy to
