Ok so I got another copy from the consulate in New York and the form for
citizenship is the same as the one online. So no matter where you apply from it
is the same form.
Also, Canadians that apply from the US now have the option to send the form
directly to Nova Scotia or they can go through the consulate. I know some have
done this before but it was not very clear on the previous forms.
However the form does not specifically say what documents to send if you are
applying from the US. A previous mailing that I got from the consulate few
months ago said we have to include notarized copies of our visas in the US(or
green card if you have one). I called the Boston consulate to verify this(in NYC
nobody alive answers the phone, God help you if you are in trouble). Also on
the new form it is little bit confusing on who can notarize your copies. You
are allowed to use a US notary public to do that just as an FYI
The wait time for citizenship as per the consulate in Boston is now 12-14
months.

The form says "Application for a Citizenship Certificate from Outside of Canada"
and the form is dated Feb 2008.

that now it is only one form for citizenship regardless whether you apply from
inside or outside of Canada. Is it my imagination or there were two different
forms before? I know there have been some changes to the Citizenship Act in
April but I don't know if they also changed the forms.

question 9 on the older form it asks if you are claiming Canadian citizenship by
birth outiside of Canada to Canadian parents. The form on the web does not have
this question.
