We demand:
A fair form of Proportional Representation in all elections to Westminster, the Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Assembly, councils throughout the UK, and to the European Parliament.
The reduction of the right to vote and stand for election to the age of 16.
The extension of the right to vote and stand for election to all people resident in the UK, irrespective of their nationality.
The extension of the right to vote and stand for election to people in prison.
The right for the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly to decide polices relevant to their area of the UK, if they vote to remove it from Westminster.
The abolition of the House of Lords and the monarchy.
Annual elections at all levels of government.
Opposition to Britain adopting the Euro.
Opposition to the proposed European constitution.
Opposition to New Labours proposed introduction of ID cards.
Written constitutions or the Westminster and Scottish parliaments, with the right of those parliaments to introduce referendums to change them requiring over 50%.
I, Steve Wallis, am making plans to establish a campaign in Wales based in Cardiff, with a demonstration outside the Welsh Assembly calling for more powers for that Assembly linked to more democracy for the UK as a whole.
I have now set up a website for the campaign at www.democracycampaign.org.uk.
I have also set up a group to promote fair Proportional Representation.
Meanwhile, New Labour has announced that ID cards will be compulsory. Visit my anti-ID cards group or web page.
