The mission of the Chinese American Museum is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of America's diverse heritage by researching, preserving, and sharing the history, rich cultural legacy and continuing contributions of Chinese Americans. Through multi-faceted activities, the Museum will illuminate the challenges and achievements of Chinese Americans, from the earliest pioneers to the newest immigrants.
Members are invited to engage in a creative dialogue about personal history, experiences, and opinions as it relates to issues about race and culture in the world today. At their own convenience, club members will read a minimum of one book selected by the moderator, every 2-3 months.
Any selected book title can be purchased at either the CAM gift shop or any other major book retailers, including online distributors. However, we encourage you to support the Museum and its funding efforts by purchasing your literature at our gift shop. As a book club member, you will receive the benefit of purchasing any selected book at a 10% discount at the CAM gift shop. If you cannot afford the purchase of a book, arrangements may be set up to allow for book-sharing between club members.
