Welcome to CAMEOCOLLECTORS. The CAMEO GROUP consists of members who post information and inquiries relating directly to the subject of evaluating, researching, appraising, buying, collecting and selling CAMEOS.

Although the public may read messages, the board requires that one subscribes as a member in order to post messages. Messages not relating to CAMEOS are removed. Frequent violators are removed from membership by Moderator(s). (This is not an issue of denying "free speech" ... merely promoting CAMEO-speech!)

Most of the members here are collectors, dealers, appraisors, gemologists and other serious CAMEO enthusiasts. CAMEOS are sculptured figures on gems, shells or other hard substances. They have been carved for nearly 5,000 years world-wide. They are collectable items and the values vary depending on age, provenance, subject, quality, method of carving, jewelry mount, etc.... Most collections focus on cameo jewelry such as rings, brooches, necklasses, bracelets and other mountings.
