This discussion group is restricted to advocates (staff or regular volunteers) who work at legal services programs and support centers for seniors in California (AOA-, state- or IOLTA-related). It is hosted by the California Senior Legal Hotline (www.seniorlegalhotline.org), a project of Legal Services of Northern California located in Sacramento and serving seniors throughout the state. The list moderator must approve membership in this group. The purpose is to provide a place for free and frank, discussion among ourselves about legal issues, collaboration, jobs, training, funding opportunities, etc. The discussion itself is unmoderated, meaning that members can freely post queries, announcements and comments on any subject. The Senior Legal Hotline also created a still-dormant (for lack of staff time) second yahoogroups list-serve, calseniorlaw. The idea is to have also a more public communications medium which anyone interested in the subject may receive but which would be moderated as far as content is concerned.
