you care about these words.
Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here:
http://www.megaone.com/un77
Where you can read the rest of this message as web page.
For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:
The refugees allege that UNHCR staff is selling most of the food items they are
supposed to be supplied.
"They aren't supplying sufficient food to us because they sell most of the food
items," they allege: http://allafrica.com/stories/200503140214.html
Here is another example: Burmese Refugees Withdraw Protest Against UNHCR
http://www.mizzima.com/archives/news-in-2005/news-in-april/12-April05-22.htm
"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing
for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm
Together we will build better world.
You could reach me fast via this form: http://www.unhcr.us/email_me.htm and if
you like to know more about me, you can google for my name 'osam altaee'.
Thanks

Hello everyone,
is anyone interested in working in an English language bookstore in
Bogotá? I will be opening one at the end of November and I'm looking
for vendors who speak English. It's a great opportunity to work and
practice your English while you finish school.
If you are interested, please send your cv to: marracho@...
Thank you,
Anastasia
Hi, I'm a student from University of Atlántico in Barranquilla. Our teaching program covers both English and French. Well, I'm glad to know that you're part of CAELUS. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to go to Bogotá this year but I believe we can be in touch, especially at CAELUS.
This group is very open, there are different discussions and we all are very interested in teaching and learning. So welcome abroad!
HELLO EVERYBODY: I'm writing to tell all of you who I am. My name is Diana Gómez, I'm 20 and I'm a student of the English Language Teaching program in the Universidad Industrial de Santander UIS Bucaramanga. I'm really interested in this group and I registered on it last sunday in ASOCOPI in Bogotá. The matter is that I would like more about CAELUS and become a member of this wonderful group. I think that this group doesn't have students from UIS; now, it has, so I would really appreciate if you can send me more information about this group. DIANA GÓMEZ UIS - BUCARAMANGA

Dear members of CAELUS
The discussion of topics dealing with ELT in Colombia has been
rather restricted to people dealing with TEFL programs.
The time has come for us to reflect upon this situation and realize
we are part of this group of people. After all, we are the ones
who "experiment" these programs. The debate has always been there
for us students, not only to comment on our experiences as EFL
learners, but also to play an active role in the decisions higher
instances are making in regards to our majors, inside our schools
and in every particular instance of our professional lives.
CAELUS is a space ASOCOPI has opened for us precisely as a means to
find new leaders, those ones that will make sound decisions on
behalf of the body of students participating in this Special
Interest Group.
In this order of ideas, we are looking forward to receiving your
proposals on the topics we will be discussing in the 40th National
Congress of ASOCOPI, a consolidating moment where we are expected to
come out with concrete ideas about something that is in our hands,
the future of ELT in Colombia.
Please, post your proposals in CAELUS page:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/caelus, so that we all can react to
them.
Best regards,
Angela Corredor O.

Thanks for joining CAELUS. We are very pleased to know that many
people are interested in shaping a successful career even though
they are not graduated yet. As students, we have the potential to
create academic communities and networks to discuss about the topics
we have to deal with everyday. We want to congratulate those who
have joined the group. Besides, we wish that everybody can invite
more people to participate actively in the discussions about ELT or
in the planning of more specific activities related to a special
theme.
Finally, we would like you to begin to offer proposals of discussion
about any topic you are interested in or have questions about. A
current member has proposed the ECAES examination. We would add the
role of students of Foreign Languages in Colombia or the social
responsibility of English Language students. You decide which topic
would be a good beginning.
