Byte Out of Crime newsletter was originally intended for content writers, publishers, and editors who submit articles, stories, and books for publication on the World Wide Web, without a prearranged contract. Scam web sites have been of increasing concern to all writers. Writers have been placed at such a disadvantage, i.e., their work is trustingly sent to a web site, with the hope of payment to follow. Unfortunately, content writers cannot ask for funds "up front". The nature of writing requires that the work be screened first, for appropriateness to a particular web site.
While this newsletter continues to report on Web sites that
may "scam" their writers, as the Web continues to change so too has this ezine.
My own writing career has evolved and I am now a successful e-author, workshop presenter, and syndicated columnist.
