The SF Shakespeare Festival is offering free performances of Macbeth at three SF Public libraries. Please read below for details. Some education opportunities in the greater Bay Area are also offered at various sites.

The 2012 season of our touring production of Shakespeare's gripping tale of misguided ambition and its tragic consequences is up running! Public performances start this weekend. (No charge to attend but a ticket is needed for the Fremont show.)

- Saturday, Jan 28 at the Fremont Main Library,
2400 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont / 2:00 pm showtime, followed by post-show Q&A with the cast at 3:00 pm
- Saturday, Feb 4 at the Ortega Library, 3223 Ortega St, San Francisco / 2:00 pm showtime, followed by post-show Q&A with the cast at 3:00 pm
- Saturday, Feb 11 at the Noe Valley Library, 451 Jersey St, San Francisco / 3:00 pm showtime, followed by post-show Q&A with the cast at 4:00 pm
- Sunday, Feb 12 at the Presidio's  Golden Gate Club, 135 Fisher Loop, San Francisco / 2:00 pm showtime, followed by post-show Q&A with the cast at 3:00 pm. After the Q&A stay for a complimentary PLAYSHOP - a  one-hour interactive session with the cast that will enhance your understanding of drama, language, and Shakespeare; suitable for all ages. Upstart Crows (Saturday acting classes for ages 13-18) start February  11 in San Francisco and March 10 in Los Altos!

The Spring Upstart Crows session in San Francisco will be held  Saturdays, February 11 - May 5. This session offers two different classes. 'Monologues and Techniques Class'UC-stack 2  meets 9:30 am - 11:00 am. Develop your voice, prepare for auditions, and play the great speeches! 'Production Class' meets 11:30 am - 2:00 pm, and rehearses and performs Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors (performances are May 5 and 6.) 'Monologues and Techniques' fee is $175; 'Production Class' fee is $360. DISCOUNT! Both classes for $500. (First-time students are recommended to sign up for both.)

The Spring Upstart Crows session in Los Altos will be held  Saturdays, March 10 - May 12, and meets 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Participants will rehearse and perform Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing on May 11 and 12. Class fee is $385.

Intersession Shakespeare Camp (ages 7-13) starts April 2 in Burlingameinter-2

Burlingame's Intersession Shakespeare Camp replicates our wildly popular summer program for ages 7-13 and is scheduled to accommodate students on a year-round academic calendar. Of course home schoolers (or anybody whose schedule permits) are welcomed. The Spring Intersession Shakespeare Camp will be held April 2-13 at Burlingame's United Methodist Church, 1443 Howard Avenue and meets weekdays 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. with optional aftercare until 5:30 pm. On the final day of the session older campers will stage a production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and the younger group will stage The Comedy of Errors for an audience of family and friends.

Campers learn all about the world of performance and Shakespeare from trained theater professionals. Experience is welcome but not required. Join us this summer and find out why Shakespeare Camps were named Best of the Bay in 2011!
