Good mornin' all: y'all can call me Seancha. I'm new to this group.
Was in a 'skinnin' group in Alabama and a member of NMLRA a few years back but
dropped out. Now I'm back in a limited way, and my new wife is interested, too.
Beside mountain man era we're interested in colonial. Christy, you mentioned
getting patterns at Jones Country Mercantile in Mo. Do they have an online addy?
I have patterns for my stuff but severely lacking for hers. Any help be
appreciated. ......... Seancha

MommaKat, I LOOOOVE to talk with other lady 'skinners! Several from Early AR
Reenactors' Assn had a ladies' learning day at Theresa's, last month and I'm
chompin at the bit for the next one! I'm new to that group and didn't have many
lady friends who 'skinned, in TX, so I'm thrilled to get to know other ladies
who are interested in 'skinnin. Maybe we could get a ladies' group to talk about
cabin crafts on the side? (I'm a member of a group called Ladies of Reenacting,
who discuss dressmaking from different eras, including ours.) I'm currently
working on my first corset and hope to tackle stays after I get this down. A
trip to Jones Country Mercantile in Liberty, MO, recently inspired me to
purchase several patterns and I hope to whittle down some of those boxes of
fabric I've filled in hopes of making more outfits. Jones Country is the best
place I've found to get the patterns!
