I'll try to send actually notes from the meeting last night when I get a chance...
We decided to throw a official Frontiers pre-party on a Thursday night at the Wild Buffalo as a fund-raiser. The dates we discussed at the meeting ended up not being available.
We can choose between January 21st or February 18th.
My vote is for Jan 21st, though I think that interferes with a couple of peoples' plans.
Thanks, Douglas! Just to
clarify, the purpose of the site is for the event planning and volunteer
crew to stay in touch and share information as we plan for the Frontiers event,
yes? (small group, internal planning)
As opposed to Facebook, or Tribe (which sadly seems to be
a dead platform) which could be used to promote the event to potential
attendees? (get as many freakin’ people on there as possible)
I highly recommend you attend a very special party this Saturday here in Seattle...Buddhaful's 3rd annual Groove Drive. The venue and line-up is absolutely EPIC. It is an all-night (8pm-8am!) dance party/benefit to raise food for charity, with fashion show, live art, two stages (one outdoor on the roof of the Tullys building w/heaters). Ive attached the flyer for more details...seriously check out the line-up!!! OMG. YAhhooo hope to see you there!!! --Carla

Thanks to everyone that made it tonight. For those that couldn't make it, here
are some quick notes:
We had a nice turn out with a handful of veterans and some new faces with new
ideas and energy.
The main focus was on the Majestic event for February 27, 2010.
The concept/theme is still moving towards "We Are The Aliens" or "Are we The
Aliens?"
There is still some room for clarifying/marketing the message to the masses.
Likewise, it's still not 100% confirmed and we are open to other suggestions,
though there is a lot of excitement about taking BU to outer space...
Basement could be the inside of a spaceship and upstairs could be outer space.
Abbynorml brought up the idea of taking on the smallest room as the
downtempo/ambient room.
It's looking like this will be 18+ event w/beer garden for 21+
Thriller dancers may perform
Mitch may do body painting
We talked about making a portal/transporter/photo booth
vip tickets?
guest list/volunteers may pay half price (when they can afford it) to keep this
thing afloat.
Pinky stepped up to do door management
Brock is interested in sharing volunteer coordination
Johnny is also interested in sharing volunteer coordination & recruitment
(though couldn't make it to tonight's meeting)
Overall, lots of excitement and good ideas. It's going to be a great event!!!
There is lots of work to do, lots of ideas still to be discussed.
Our next meeting will be at the same location and time on the Tuesday before
thanksgiving:
***November 24th 7pm at Bellingham Public Market***
In the meantime, please feel free to share ideas and progress reports here. Do
you have a role or talent you'd like to share for this event? Do you know
artists that have work to display or performances to stage? Please share!
Thanks,
Erik

Hey all,
Thursday November 12th, 2009 7:00 p.m. at Bellingham Public Market.
Mark you calendars!
Finally we'll have a little get together to get reacquainted, meet some new
people that want to get involved, and begin planning our next big event at the
Majestic scheduled for Saturday February 27th, 2010.
This isn't a very far reaching message board, please pass the word to others
that might be interested in getting involved--it's fun!!
Here are a few things I'd like to discuss. Please bring your ideas & topics, or
just listen and see how you might plug in.
Main focus: Majestic
Needs:
-volunteer recruitment
-volunteer coordination
-sponsors
-talent, (currently the only confirmed act is Super Geek League,
www.supergeekleague.com I'm trying to get March 4th on board as well)
-theme, concept, vision
-street crew
-graphic design
-scheduling/booking
-decoration ideas, work parties
-improvements from previous events
-alcohol?
-all ages/18+/21+
-ticket price determination, (I'm thinking $15 advance or w/costume, $20 at the
door)
-new publicity angles
-fund raising
General topics:
-goals & intentions
-current financial situation
-website & web 2.0 stuff
We'll try to keep this meeting brief and productive, probably between 1 and 1
1/2 hours. There will not be as many meetings as we used to have (weekly),
maybe every two weeks or so.
Thanks & see you soon,
Erik

Hullo BurningHamster and Boogie U friends. I posted a 30-minute video that attempts to share the sights, sounds, moods, friends and feelings of Burning Man 2009 at http://vimeo. com/7238717. You'll recognize many familiar faces in it, I bet. I recommend you download a copy (link beneath video on the right), then watch in full screen with the volume turned to 11 -- make some time to experience it and you'll be transported back to Black Rock City fo' sho'.

Lots of love, moontroll
Sorry I haven't stayed on top of deleting these right when they get through. I figured it's rare enough and easy enough to spot that people know what's up. Sorry for the inconvenience.
