Correl79504,
There were several George Washington Bryson's that served in the war, incuding
my own GGGrandfather. The information I have is that your GW Bryson is that he
initially served with the 36th Alabama Volunteers, Co. D. He was disharged with
a disability on April 1, 1862. Later he enlisted on Aug 25 1863 in the 28th
Alabama Infantry, Co. H and died on Aug 5 1864 near La Grange, Troupe Co., GA.
There is a letter in his file from the Regimental Surgeon concerning his
disability (Brights Disease) , however it is very hard to read. His records
with the 36th contain 4 pages, with the 28th 5 pages. Hope this helps, Bernie
Cooper
