Brisbane Rainforest Action and Information Network (BRAIN) is a Brisbane City Council sponsored bushcare group. The focus of the group is the regeneration and rehabilitation of rainforest in sites around Brisbane. Many of the activities are hands-on and include: weeding out exotic invasive plant species, replanting with local rainforest species, maintenance of regenerating areas, seed collection and propagation, species identification and community education. BRAIN is also active in developing and sharing information with like-minded groups and merged with SOWN (Save Our Waterways Now) in 2007. Membership is free and activities are open to everyone. Excursions to local rainforest remnants occur several times a year and are posted on the Events Calendar.
