Upcoming calendar upgrade: Yahoo! Groups calendars are being upgraded to a much improved version. You may not have access to the calendar (for up to 24 hours) when this group is upgraded. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Description
The Group's name is somewhat misleading according to a membership poll that was run in 2007. There are NO brass collectors only in this group. Most of us run our brass on a regular basis.
We are about all things related to Brass Model Trains! A good price check is always to look in the closed auctions on eBay. We discuss painting and modifications. This is a forum for everything related to brass locomotives, cars and railroad miniatures. Discussing brass in N, HO, S, O and all other scales are welcome! Photos of your recently finished models are wanted!
If you have actually argued with your friend (as I have) over what piece of rolling stock you would make with world's LAST 10 pounds of brass, then this is the group for you!
****Note**** Please sign all posts with at least your first name, but using your first and last name is preferred.
Remember to include the scale when posting items wanted or for sale, as we are a mutli-scale group. The posting of items wanted or for sale is permitted at any time, not just on a specific day of the month.
Once an item for sale or wanted post is sent, please send all further correspondence privately. Do NOT use the group email to complete the sale!
The posting of commercial announcements or brass project updates are permitted and encouraged as well if done so reasonably.
There are past and current brass importers that are group members, so PLEASE word any criticisims of a model carefully!
Please send me photos of your latest project or finished models for the group homepage. My direct email address is in the links section.

Re: Loco Disassembly
Phil, maybe you have already addressed this but there is typically a clear protective coat on a brass model which needs to be stripped off before painting. I'm

Re: Chassis Tilt problem
I was thinking more in terms of decoders and electronics for steam engines. Anyway. As I said before, I'll be interested in your results if you get your

Re: Chassis Tilt problem
I don't think there is any bonus with the axle motor for steam engines, except for working accessory boosters on the trailing or tender trucks. That would make

Re: Chassis Tilt problem
Agreed; "...as long as it works". But that remains to be seen. Nor would I count on it being particularly more economical to go with the Railflyer DCC system
