I hold no brief for Mr. Debanjan Ray as he is competent enough to defend himself . However having followed the mails pertaining to this issue since yesterday , I think our responses to Hitler's quote in an innocent mail has been way over the top .
Hitler by his despicable policies rightly deserves his place in the dustbin of history . But don't we sometimes need to sup with the devil if need be & give the devil it's due when it is justified ? Can't we take lessons in warfare from a great general ? Let's view Hitler's comment quoted in the said mail in it's proper perspective . It's nothing but the modern management mantra of perform or perish / deliver or disappear . A statement I think even the other Peter , the guru of modern management - Peter F. Drucker would endorse .Hitler was just talking about the importance of efficiency & in particular - EFFECTIVENESS . The world only celebrates a winner & there are no prizes for the second best . No one likes a loser . I am sure our Peter(Peter Schogol) would understand . This is reality .
I don't think Mr. Ray need be so apologetic . No disrespect intended to others - I feel he is drawing needless flak . Let's try to just see & understand the content of the message & forget whom it came from .

I have avoided responding to most of the discussions so far for fear of raising a hornet's nest. But this time I do want to put forth my response.
I completely endorse what Peter has said. In fact, I, too, was aghast to see Hitler's name in that list. A man who used the demoralised state of the people of his nation to cause hate and such a collosal tragedy has no place in any civilized and God-fearing society. If any mention is made of the man or the atrocities he initiated, it should be only as a stern reminder to all mankind of what damage and destruction one man can do when war has ravaged the social, political and economic fibre of a society. Secondly, that particular quotation has an ominous threat in it.
Today, more than at any other time, there is a need to make people realise the need for a stable society, and I , as a Brahmo, believe that our sermons, our very lives and our writings can carry this message to the people.
I pray that peace and goodwill reign in this world at all times.
