Yeah EK I think runs 77Ws to JFK. They just committed to a ton at the Dubai show
last week. Personally I think the plane's niche is too small and that Boeing and
Airbus will make more off of the 787 and A350 XWB. It's still a cool plane I
guess.

Let's see...the nearest airport to Brattleboro is, what, 4V8?

An A380 landing there would be...impressive. ;)

No, Emirates pulled the A380 out of JFK and re-deployed it on their Toronto
route. They're saying they'll bring it back to JFK once they get some
additional frames. With the number of A380s they have on order, they'll
probably start A380 service from Dubai to Omaha and Boise (and maybe even
Brattleboro!!).

I believe Lufthansa plans on putting their A380s on the FRA-JFK route once they
take some deliveries, so it's possible by perhaps summer 2010 three airlines
will be flying A380s to JFK. They're ugly airplanes, but I like seeing them.

remember tracking him a few times on my days off, He flew right up the Conn

Will they come back to Connecticut before deploying, or go directly from Indiana
to overseas?

What dictates whether a flight carries the "Reach" call sign? I was a little
surprised this flew under a Northwest flight number and was visible on
FlightAware.

Looks like he got underway a tad early at 10:07. I really hope someone did get
some shots... I'd have stepped up to the plate for this one, but unfortunately I
cashed in my "bail on the family to go to the airport to take pictures" chip
yesterday for the Air France A380. The Delta 747 at Bradley would have been a
much rarer picture.

The clouds cooperated here in Rhode Island, where I was able to watch the A380
churn across a blue sky with the sun lighting the aircraft just perfectly!

What a change in the weather today! I did indeed venture down to New York
today, and there was not a cloud in the sky for the Air France A380 arrival.
This definitely takes some of the bite out of the first Emirates A380 service to
JFK, where a big cloud blew in just before the flight's arrival.

I'd have to say this was one of the best days I've spent at JFK. Lot of
NYCAviation. com photographers to chat with, and some good special schemes to
see.

Here's the A380 if you're interested - shot from Inwood Park on arrival to
Runway 31L at about 1 this afternoon:

I'll venture down.

If it was at Burlington it could have been picking up members of the 158th FW or
the VT National Guard. Shame we don't know when it's leaving-I would dash up but
I'd rather know its departure time.

Well, it's not a commercial flight thats for sure. I finally spotted
it on Flightaware listed as an NWA B747. It must be one that was
repainted in the new Delta livery. No listing for it's departure
though. So maybe you'll all get some time to get some pics of it
tomorrow.

missing this is the fact that it would have been too dark by arrival time
for a good photo.

Thanks for the heads-up, David.

I didn't see a SWA charter, but there is a HUGE Delta Airlines 747 over
at the helicopter pad on the east side, just north of the UPS building.

It was still parked there (lights off) when I left the Air Exchange
building at 8:30pm. The place was abuzz with activity earlier with
dozens of cars on the lawn and a large number of soldiers out directing
traffic for parking. The 747 was all lit up with stairs at the front
entrance around 5pm.

Maybe if you make an early run up there Sat morning you can get some good
photos.

What could this be? He came in about an hour ago. Maybe it's a UCONN charter?
Don't usually see 732s around here anymore, but UCONN took Pace somewhere this
spring, and I've seen Pace fly over every now and then. I remember taking
DeltaShuttle's 732s to FL about 10 years ago and watching the clamshell thrust
reversers open up on landing.
