Bradley Int'l Airport (BDL) is the convenient alternative to the congested airports in New York and Boston. It's the 2nd-largest and busiest airport in the New England. BDL is located in the Hartford/Springfield area.
Bradley is the prime diversion airport for New York's JFK Airport and
interesting diversions into BDL are common. August 12 was no exception, as
Bradley handled 8 New York-area diversions that day due to weather in NYC. Seen here on the Postal Service ramp are Austrian 87 from Vienna, Northwest (Delta) 849 from Rome, and Cargolux 778 from Luxembourg. Other diverted aircraft, including a Qatar 777 from Doha, were scattered around in other locations at the airport. (Photo by DavidinHartford)
