Description

This is an example of how a Yahoo group can be used as a FREE home base for an online course. It can even serve
as a reasonable facsimile for an LMS! There are no technical or programming skills required. I set up this entire "course" in less than half an hour.

To handle course registration: Students need to join the class group as a member. This will require a Yahoo ID.
As the trainer you could create and assign them a login identity, or they could set up their own Yahoo IDs.

For today you may sign in (click the link above) with the
Yahoo ID: Shoestring_Student
and passcode: Lesson1

This will allow you to access the course materials.

Let's assume this is Lesson 1 for the course, "E-Learning Solutions on a Shoestring".

Once you've logged in, click "files" at left. Then take a look, in order, at the "Lesson 1" materials.

Spend some time exploring this site. When you're ready to return to the Bozarthzone, click "links" at left.

To go to an example of using a free community to host your entire e-learning program/catalog of courses, click "links" at left.
