The B.O.S.D. is a group of like minded Solitary Druids. The organization is not a religious order as such. We promote Druidry as a way of life rather than a religion. We are similar to the Masons in that all we require of our members is that they are religious. We feel that one can be a Druid whether you are Christian, Asatru, or Wiccan. Druidry is about the spirit and the land. As long as we are focused on both then we are following the path.
If you can buy into this ideal then you can be a member and you will fit in quite well. But keep in mind that this is NOT a Celtic order; we rely on the lore of our individual faiths to help us create our individual paths. In every faith there are ancient as well as modern texts that help define divinity and the divine, just as there are texts that show how the ancients treasured the earth and its bounty.
While we do realize the need to understand who and what the ancient Druids were, we also appreciate the work of the reformists and feel that all of that lore is necessary and relevant to building a new Druidic path. So part of our goal is to help those new to the path find the online and textual references that they need in order to understand both the ancient Druids and their reformist and modern counterparts.
