Hey y'all
(sorry, it's the area having an influence on me.... )
On the afternoon of 3-16 at Tom Sawyers I was napping after a hard day of doing
absolutely nothing, when I was awakened by the sound of an RV in the slot next
to me that, based on the noise, must surely have had 14 kids under 10 packed
inside of it and certianly had 27 doors. Imagine my surprise when I saw an RV
unit with 3 kids and 1 single door. I think I should write to the manufactures
of the RV unit and tell them how wonderfully the unit doors stand up to such
abuse. ;o)
The Mississippi river is amazingly beautiful, There are benches right on the
shore here, so I sat out there with the doggies a lot. I was loathe to leave but
with the upcoming heavy rainfall there was a possibility the area would have
been flooded so I packed up and headed west around 330 am. (The RV site is
actually on the river side of the dike, on a spit of land, in the river).
I had found a by pass for Little Rock back in 2006 going from Az to Md. so I
used it again this time, in the opposite direction. Really peaceful!! I-40 West
to 31 North to 167 South to 64 West to I-40 West. It adds about 20 miles and 45
minutes to the trip, but well worth it.
My destination was Ivy's Cove RV, and I got there with no problems,
However..........the nuclear power plant at Russellville Arkansas was having
some major difficulties and Ivy's Cove was full up of long stay people who were
nuclear scientists there to help bring the plant back on line. I, personally,
feel honored that there are SUPER HIGH IQ people who travel and live in RV's.
!!!
I went on ahead, since there was no room at the Inn.......... and ended up at a
KOA in Alma. http://www.koa.com/where/AR/04110/reserve/ NEVER STAY HERE!!!! That
is all I can say.
I planed to be here until Wed morning, to allow the storm system to pass. I may,
however, move on to Ft. Smith Arkansas, about 15 miles down the road, on Tuesday
morning. Will let you know.
There are a lot of horses and cows in Arkansas, so I feel at home.
