These are books that were probably never on anyone's best-seller list, owing to the strangeness of their subject matter or the slightly askew viewpoints of their authors. "Kook" books, tomes of doubtful scholarship, twisted histories, bizarrely illustrated incunabula, etc.; all are fair game.
