How to unsubscribe from this list   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #563 of 14526 |
No, I'm not trying to give anybody here a hint. :)
"Adania" asked how to do this, and a few people have sent futile
"unsubscribe" messages to the list. So ....

1. Send a blank message, without a title, to
bm-chicago-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
2. Wait for a little while. A confirmation letter will arrive.
3. Send a blank reply to this letter. Do not include the body
of the letter in your reply. Send your reply to the "reply-to"
address, instead of to the address the letter came from.
(Don't worry, most e-mail software will walk you through
this one).

See, very simple. Messages to the list saying "please unsubscribe me"
won't work, though. Why ? Because the evidence does seem pretty solid
that Mr. Buckman is not really the list owner, as much as he likes
to pretend he is. Observe the fact that he is unable to change group
settings, that he doesn't know who the current moderators are, and
that when he tries to "ban" somebody, that somebody is still posting
here days later.

Check the archives. You'll find somebody who definitely looks like
the owner. (He made one of the first posts). He hasn't been by in
ages. This means that when one sends a "please unsubscribe me"
message, there isn't anybody seeing that message who can help one
out with that, except oneself. This list has been abandoned.
