Title: Interactives Rock Cycle

Description: Rock Cycle is an interactive Web site loosely based on
National Committee on Science Education Standards and Assessment and
the National Research Council grades 5-8. Students can learn all
about rocks and geology, the science of rocks. They will learn how
rocks can be identified, how they are formed, and how they change
over time. Students will identify the three major kinds of rocks and
learn how to tell them apart. They will also discover how the
different types of rocks are formed. Students will learn what kind of
changes can happen to rocks, and about the processes that cause these
changes. Putting all this knowledge together, students will
understand that the rock cycle — a continuous pattern of change —
helps explain what happens over and over again to the rocks in our
earth. Divided into the following sections: Introduction, Types of
Rocks, How Rocks Change, The Rock Cycle Diagram, and Test Your

Description: This website provides comprehensive information, games,
activities, and downloadable lesson plans (Grades 2-12) to help teach

about recycling and plastics. EPIC is dedicated to sustainable
plastics recycling and to minimizing plastic waste sent to landfill.
The site is hosted by the Environment and Plastics Industry Council
(EPIC), a council of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association. Also

the Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University are then used to
explain their historic role in relation to that topic. The almost
flashcard-like format is simple enough that it could also serve as a

to be fun and to instill confidence in young children as they learn
to read. They recommend beginning with "ABCs" which helps learners
recognize the relationship between letters and sounds. "Learn to
Read" features one vowel to listen to, manipulate, read, and
eventually move toward mastering sound-spelling. "It's Fun to Read"
explores a variety of genres and topics to expand reading vocabulary
and comprehension. The advanced section, "I'm Reading," transitions
