Solapur City and Dist(Land Of "The Great Indian Bustard") has wetlands ,

forests and hills.Consequently, several species of birds have been

recorded.Solapur region is known as a draught prone area but there is no

scarcity of "Birds " as can be seen from the rich and varied "AVIFAUNA"

presenrt here.There are four fresh water tanks in the Solapur 1)Hipparga 2)

Siddheshwar 3)Motibaag 4)Hotgi and The Hide park of Solapur "The

Siddheshwar Vanvihar" well maintained by Forest Dept.There are several

birders staying in different parts of the Dist .Due to the distances,find

it difficult to assemble at one place and exchange notes.. This yahoo-

group seeks to provide such a meeting place.Please feel free to post your
