This Faith-Sharing and Discussion Group of Birchley St Mary's RC Church parish is open to all who have interest in the RC faith and especially in activities associated with our church, parish and/or diocese.
Situated in rural Lancashire, in the valley of Birchley on the southern slopes of Billinge Hill (a prominent local landmark famous for its beacon and extensive views over Liverpool, Cheshire, the Irish Sea, and North Wales) our church is one of the oldest in the Liverpool Archdiocese. The parish was founded in 1618 and the present church, dating back to 1828, now serves a population of some 2,000 Catholics.
Free discussion is encouraged in this Group, and although our Parish Priest is not involved (since he is not yet on-line) the moderator will report progress on a regular basis and endeavour to discuss any important issues with him as and when they arise.
