PERMISSION AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO CROSSPOST!

**See times and all proposed legs of this transport below this message**

THIS TRANSPORT WILL HAVE TO BE CANCELLED IF NOT FILLED BY 3 PM ON FRIDAY 5/9 AND IT IS RATHER CRITICAL THAT THIS TRANSPORT FILLS. PLEASE HELP - SEVERAL OF THE TRANSPORTERS WHO USUALLY HELP FOR THIS ROUTE in MO ARE UNAVAILABLE THIS WEEKEND!  THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL TRANSPORTS FROM MO THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT- WE HAVE A TOTAL OF 16 CATS TO MOVE FROM MO TO RESCUE ASAP!

We have taken in a 12 Persians from a large scale situation in MO that was overwhelming local resources, three other cats have come in from high kill shelters in nearby states and one LaPerm is expected from Colorado.  There is a constant need in the area and we must move these cats to make room. We need to get these cats to rescue as soon as they have been full vetted as our vet is expecting loads of dogs in from MO situations and we cannot afford to board the cats for long.  We are running TWO transports from MO this weekend (one Saturday, one Sunday), if possible, due to these circumstances. All cats are Spayed or Neutered and UTD on FVRCP and Rabies. They will be traveling in their own carriers with their health records. There will be a minimum of 5 cats in 5 carriers on this trip. If all the transporter volunteers can fit in more carriers, we will transport more.

If you can help, please contact me directly by changing the subject line of this message to: "MO/GA TRANSPORT HELP 5/11" and replying privately - NOT on list - OR by calling me toll free at 888-303-9454. I don't want to miss an offer!

If you cannot transport, PLEASE help by telling others about this plea to help us find transporters!

THANK YOU!

Linda

Hi All:

I cannot convey this strongly enough...This is a genuine, life-saving transport effort in the making. The dogs currently at Beebe AC, rurally located north of Little Rock, AR WILL have to be put to sleep if this Mother's Day weekend trans does not make. Due to circumstances beyond my control, these dogs do not have the luxury of being boarded or fostered. They are vetted and sitting in an overcrowded, landfill shelter with NO safety net – They have nothing but a wing and a prayer and NEED transport so desperately. No joke. The pressure is on to move these dogs. I am sincerely pleading with you to take a leg if you are able or send this post to someone who can. Whatever it takes! Not having regular volunteers or a kennel director on hand has proven to make this one of the most harrowing and challenging rescue efforts I've ever undertaken. I am driving to AR on Friday night and will personally prep the dogs for transport on Saturday morning as well as photographing all the new urgents. Please help me send the ones that have places to go out to rescue!

For those of you who have driven Beebe AC dogs in the past or have stepped up now, THANK YOU for all you have done and opt to do. For those of you who can help on this Mother's Day weekend transport, please contact my transport coordinator, Laura Marinari, immediately. She can be reached at:

          . MARSHALL, MO -  CRYSTAL LAKE, IL
                   SUNDAY - MAY 11th,  2008
        ***** ALL LEGS ARE VERY FLEXIBLE *****

REASON FOR TRANSPORT: Shelter to Vet then to Rescue: We have taken in a 12 Persians from a large scale situation in MO that was overwhelming local resources, three other cats have come in from high kill shelters in nearby states and one LaPerm is expected from Colorado. If all the transporter volunteers can fit in more carriers, we will transport more.

          . MARSHALL, MO -  CRYSTAL LAKE, IL
                   SUNDAY - MAY 11th,  2008
        ***** ALL LEGS ARE VERY FLEXIBLE *****

REASON FOR TRANSPORT: Shelter to Vet then to Rescue: We have taken in a 12 Persians from a large scale situation in MO that was overwhelming local resources, three other cats have come in from high kill shelters in nearby states and one LaPerm is expected from Colorado.

This run has filled thanks to the generosity and kind hearts of some very wonderful people - some who offered to transport, some who cross-posted and/or told their friends, and two who very thoughtfully offered donations to help us rescue more!

I will send out a run sheet to transporters late tonight or tomorrow AM.

My heartfelt thanks to you all!

PERMISSION AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO CROSSPOST!

**See times and all proposed legs of this transport below this message**

THIS TRANSPORT WILL HAVE TO BE CANCELLED IF NOT FILLED BY 3 PM ON FRIDAY 5/23.

You may remember that we had taken in  12 Persians from a large scale situation in MO that was overwhelming local resources and four other cats have come in from high kill shelters in other states.  We have since taken in three more, though we have moved 11 of the original cats in two transports already. There are more cats coming in each week.There is a constant need in the area and we must move these cats to make room. All cats are Spayed or Neutered and UTD on FVRCP and Rabies. They will be traveling in their own carriers with their health records. There will be a minimum of 5 cats in 5 carriers on this trip. If all the transporter volunteers can fit in more carriers, we may transport more.

If you can help, please contact me directly by changing the subject line of this message to: "MO/IL TRANSPORT HELP 5/24" and replying privately - NOT on list - OR by calling me toll free at 888-303-9454. I don't want to miss an offer!

MY apologies - trying to do this in a rush made for several errors. The info below and subject line are correct on this send:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Siamese momcat and  a number of Siamese kittens need  our help. It is URGENT that they get to Powder Springs from two high kills shelters. Momcat and some kittens will be transported to Birmingham tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at about 2-3 PM - they will need a 26 hour overnight until transport the next day at 4:30 PM when the other kittens arrive on Saturday (a transporter is bringing the other kittens to Birmingham).  Momcat will be rabies vaccinated. Kittens are well but it would be too dangerous to rabies vaccinate them for rabies at their young ages and facing the stress of transport.  Do you know anyone who might kindly offer to do the one leg below on Saturday or to overnight tomorrow night?
SATURDAY 5/24
Leg 1: Birmingham to Abernathy, AL - NEED!
Estimated Time: 1 hour 19 minutes      Estimated Distance: 85.23 miles
Start time: Saturday 5/24 4:30 PM
Leg 2: Abernathy, AL to Powder Springs, GA - FILLED BY RECEIVING RESCUE
Estimated Time: 1 hour 26 minutes      Estimated Distance: 83.94 miles
Start time: 6 PM
Times  on Saturday are negotiable but need to conform to a start time that the shelter will set since they are closed and only meeting us for this transport.
The cats are going to Atlanta Persian and Siamese Rescue in Powder Springs (  http://www.cat-rescue.org/contact.htm )  and will be altered there if not already altered.  Vet records will travel with the cats.  We will try to arrange for carriers to ba available but it would help if transporters can bring 3-4 carriers.
Thank you to all of you kind folk who crossposted, told their friends, and offered to help! Special thanks to Janice and Nelson who offered to transport from Birmingham to Abernathy AND to overnight the cat and two kittens Friday night.  Thank you all!
Linda
This email refer to the message below, sent out earlier:
A Siamese momcat and  a number of Siamese kittens need  our help. It is URGENT that they get to Powder Springs from two high kills shelters. Momcat and some kittens will be transported to Birmingham tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at about 2-3 PM - they will need a 26 hour overnight until transport the next day at 4:30 PM when the other kittens arrive on Saturday (a transporter is bringing the other kittens to Birmingham).  Momcat will be rabies vaccinated. Kittens are well but it would be too dangerous to rabies vaccinate them for rabies at their young ages and facing the stress of transport.  Do you know anyone who might kindly offer to do the one leg below on Saturday or to overnight tomorrow night?
SATURDAY 5/24
Leg 1: Birmingham to Abernathy, AL - NEED!
Estimated Time: 1 hour 19 minutes      Estimated Distance: 85.23 miles
Start time: Saturday 5/24 4:30 PM
Leg 2: Abernathy, AL to Powder Springs, GA - FILLED BY RECEIVING RESCUE
Estimated Time: 1 hour 26 minutes      Estimated Distance: 83.94 miles
Start time: 6 PM
Times  on Saturday are negotiable but need to conform to a start time that the shelter will set since they are closed and only meeting us for this transport.
The cats are going to Atlanta Persian and Siamese Rescue in Powder Springs (  http://www.cat-rescue.org/contact.htm )  and will be altered there if not already altered.  Vet records will travel with the cats.  We will try to arrange for carriers to ba available but it would help if transporters can bring 3-4 carriers.
My abject apologies. Too many cats, too many transports, too little time, and too few brain cells. Another correction: The cats are going to Fancy  Felines of the South, NOT to Atlanta Persian and Siamese.  (Purebred Cat Breed Rescue, Inc. is no longer affiliated with APS. )
I have a dog that lives in my home that I am trying to transport up to
Washington. I have a letter stating that he is a shelter dog. He needs
to be transported from Austin, Tx to Bremerton, WA, but can be picked
up anywhere in the Seattle area.
He is a 35lb doberman/blue heeler mix and I can supply food as well as
some simple medications to help with the way if needed. He also has a
kennel he travels with. He is loved. He just needs to get to his home.
Please email me if you have any questions or are able to.
Thanks!
Ashley
