Welcome to the Bike Montclair group and listserv.

Bike Montclair was founded in 2002 with the idea that Montclair could one day become a safe haven for walking and bicycling. Today, we’re a small but dedicated group of volunteers that envisions bicycling and walking as a safe, appealing and feasible choice for all users and all trips thus building a strong community fabric on a more human scale. We eagerly seek new members. You can start here!

Feel free to browse the messages. If you'd like to receive meeting notices, post a message, or access files, you will need to sign up. To do so click on "Join This Group" at the right. Then create a Yahoo ID, and choose how you prefer to use this group; receive messages emailed to you as they're posted, receive a daily digest, or turn off message email entirely. Mission and Goals:
Bike Montclair’s mission is to create a bicycle-friendly and walkable Montclair through advocacy, education, and encouragement. Through these means, our aim is to improve our health, clean our air, make our streets safer and improve our overall quality of life.

Advocacy Goal
• to advocate for bicycling and walking as safe, healthy and feasible choices for people of all ages and abilities for all trips
Education Goal
• to be a resource to residents, visitors, and Township decision-makers for bicycle and pedestrian information such as safe practices, accessible design, and implementation successes.
Encouragement Goal
• to promote and sponsor events that encourage more people to walk and bike more often.
