As all homeschoolers know, socialization is not an issue because it's a BIG WORLD out there! This group focuses specifically on events and happenings in the local area that homeschoolers may be interested in. There is a parent group that lists events taking place on the Southside of Norfolk and Chesapeak. We list mostly events happening on this side, but all events are open for publication.

Events will be from local Parks & Recreation groups, 4-H, libraries, museums, the aquarium, space center, zoo, homeschool classes, field trips and co-ops, curriculum sales and conventions, and more!

Areas served include Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown, Williamsburg, Poqueoson, and other Peninsula localities. Please put the location in the subject line!

What this group is NOT:
-This is NOT a general discussion group for homeschooling, there are plenty of those already in the Hampton Roads area. (See our Links section if you need those addresses.) Please only post *events and happenings* that would be of interest to homeschoolers.
-This is NOT *just* a group for people already homeschooling. Even if you're just considering HSing, or have one or more children in public school, you're still welcome.
-This is NOT an announce-only list. There is no waiting for your event to be "approved" or posted by someone else. If you know of something interesting happening, feel free to post it!
-This group is NOT religion-specific. We are inclusive and welcoming of all.
