Description
Why should there be another Bible translation group? While I am a member of other translation groups; it seems that one's hands are tied from being able to discuss all of the different facets of what goes into Bible translation. In this group, we will be able to discuss hermeneutics, exegesis, theology, linguistics, semantics, textual criticism, word-for-word (essential literal versus thought-for-thought (Dynamic Equivalent) and any other related field that affects the translation process.
HOUSE RULES
• Everyone will act Christ like in their dealings with others. There is nothing worse than someone claiming to be a Christian and then tearing down another.
• However, this is a discussion and debate group specifically for finding the truth of the matter and one should expect their position to be challenged at times, but dealt with in a respectful manner.
• When you post, or respond to a post, you need to sign your post with either your first name or your last, whichever you are comfortable with.
• When responding to another’s post, you should address that person by their name.
• When responding to a post, take some time and cut out whatever you are not responding to and if you are not too busy, please take the time to give some indicators of who is speaking.

Re: Hebrews 10.29
Perhaps this is an example of "gender neutral" translation by the NRSV? Once they changed "the man" to "those who," then "they were" instead of "he" followed.
