The purpose of the Biblical Exegesis group is to discuss issues of biblical interpretation from the perspective of the original languages. There are no denominational or religious restrictions for this group, but participants should have at least an introductory knowledge of the biblical languages (questions or observations by non-specialists drawn from commentaries or other sources are welcome too). Suggested topics include (but are not restricted to) evaluation of translations, discussion of "difficult" passages, and the various interpretations of passages from different theological perspectives (i.e., does evidence from the original languages resolve the differences)?

List members are expected to be courteous and stick to discussing facts and arguments. Abusive language, personal insults, or ad hominem attacks will not be permitted. Nor is this list the place to preach or attempt to convert those who disagree: rather, show from sober and correct exegesis that your understanding of the text in question is correct, and let your exegesis do the persuading.
