A moderated group for discussions relating to caving. This website includes but is not limited to cavers from the Birmingham area. This website is a separate and distinct entity from the Birmingham Grotto and membership in the Birmingham Grotto does not automatically confer access to this site. Anyone wishing to join this site must be recommended by a current site member. The opinions expressed on this site are not necessarily those of the Birmingham Grotto. All postings are the sole responsibility of the individual authors.

Posts are to be caving related although the occasional off-topic discussion does occur. However, inappropriate or illegal topics are strongly discouraged. If you need those topics spelled out for you please contact a moderator. No advertising or malicious content allowed. “Flaming” will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Caving trips posted are led by volunteers. There is neither peer review nor any certification to attest to any trip leaders’ qualifications. New cavers should inquire about the nature of the trip and the experience of the leader in advance. Those participating in the trips should be aware of their physical and mental limitations. On vertical trips all participants are expected to supply their own gear and be knowledgeable about rigging and safe practices.
