They used to oppose vaccinations and organ transplants. Now permitted blood expanders etc work too slowly for those bleeding rapidly, profusely.

One estimate is 5-12,000 JWs (active-active,inactive, Bible students), die yearly but it gets little media attention as most die quietly, scattered worldwide.(Blood On The Altar. David A Reed. P 26. 1996 ed. Prometheus Books) Possibly 200,000 or more died 1945-2008. We can believe freely about blood etc but when putting beliefs into practices, that makes us subject to courts and there is natural public reproach because even one sacrificed life is one too many.

So that this issue is not "abstract" click "Photos" on the left of the screen to see family memories of some of our loved ones. For us they are are a cause with us to the day we ourselves pass on. Lawrence still has 2 JW daughters alive and battles on to save them and other kids.
