Hi, All --

I wanted to give you guys the first look at my new project. I've gotten
so many good ideas from all of you, it's only fitting that you're
getting a first look.

The site is called Placeblogger. I did a ton of research and found 700+
placeblogs -- blogs and community sites about a city, town or county in
the US. Placeblogger will be a directory and live aggregator of just
headlines from these sites. I have some ideas about providing services
to placebloggers, and about mapping and geolocation, but if those happen
they'll happen in later releases.

I'll be announcing it at the J-Lab conference this Thursday, and I'll do
an announcement writeup of the project at The Center for Citizen Media,
(http://citmedia.org/blog/), who's supporting the project.

Now, I'm announcing it, but it won't be live yet. I'd love to hog up
some time at one of the meetings to get feedback and ask you about some
questions that I have about where to go with the project.
