Najib is made Optimus Prime by Michael's Decepticons
Posted by sakmongkol AK47 at 8:42 AM FRIDAY, 27 JAN 2012
Datuk Seri Najib Razak was crowned today the "Father of Moderation and
Transformation" by the World Chinese Economic Forum (WCEF), which said the
prime minister's "fair and just leadership" had benefitted the Chinese
community "tremendously". WCEF chairman Datuk Michael Yeoh said in his
speech at the conferment ceremony here today.
This was the major news item of the day. WCEF is a gathering of Chinese
hongs and towkays eager to seek business favors from the PM. How does
Michael Yeoh come by his assessment?
Among others, Yeoh praised Najib's 1 Malaysia platform, his administration's
decision to increase allocation to Chinese schools and the introduction of
tax exemptions for churches and temples, saying the initiatives were proof
of the prime minister's commitment to "fairness and justice".
Fuyoh! I had to pinch myself. Never have I heard such outpouring of
boot-licking averments which Michael sought to prove by stating the material
I placed in italics above.
Let me steal the thunder from Michael's shameless sycophantic offerings.
Two weeks ago, I sat down with Dr Richard Cockett, SEA Correspondent for The
Economist. Also present was Wan Saiful Wan Jan, head of IDEAS. Richard
posted the question to me as to whether Najib will succeed in his
transformation ideas.
He will not succeed I said. But let me say some nice things about Najib.
Najib is a personable fellow and if you get close enough to him, you will
have to be a black-hearted person NOT to like him. But that is as far as I
can go. He is a nice and a personable fellow.
He has his heart at the right place, but as I wrote sometime back, he is a
political invertebrate. He doesn't have the political will and personal
strength to push through his programs. I was ready to concede later, that
Najib on account of his exterior rhetoric may indeed have a backbone but
still, I find difficulty to locate where on his anatomy.
Take the case of his New Economic Model. Nowadays we hardly hear about it.
In the 2011 UMNO General Assembly, Najib did not even mention it. Instead he
devoted much of his speech sounding very combative and full of vehemence.
What he has done was to actually retrograde to UMNO cavemen politics. You
disagree with us, we bash you in the heads with our swing sticks.
Ask yourself. How will Najib for instance push through his economic agenda?
Answer: He will revert to the tested ways of selecting cronies, of giving
direct negotiated projects masked by seemingly transparent methods to the
chosen few. Those chosen few too will be recommended by the Man who can walk
on water. He will continue with the patronage system instead of pushing his
transforming ideas through.
The only transforming sensation that Najib will achieve is perhaps playing
with his Transformers toys and watching the film starring Shia LaBeouf. His
eyes will probably focus more on Megan Fox.
In the 2010 UMNO General Assembly for instance, all his big ideas were
rejected and thwarted by UMNO delegates , obviously mirroring the general
objection to Najib's adventurist ideas which were his alone and most
probably, scripted by expensively paid consultants. His idea of 1 Malaysia
with the hazy notions of inclusiveness and outward readiness to "We must
pool our collective talents in the interests of our nation so that
together, we will win out. Fulamak!
That to be read as: we must pakat pakat to swipe clean the country's wealth
and make hay while the sun shines. We will carry out the agenda of
guatolonglu-lutolonggua win-win policies.
The delegates at that assembly immediately rejected Najib's 1 Malaysia by
insisting on Malay first policies on everything. So what 1 Malaysia is Najib
talking about?
His plans to transform the economy and especially that of the Malay economy
through his NEM founded on the equally hazy notions of affirmative policies
based of free market economics and affirmative policies based on merits were
met with howls from delegates insisting on the continuation of NEP like
policies.
In the end, Najib was left clutching his balls and could only muster his
last trump card- to claim that after all he is the son of Tun Razak. That,
no one can dispute. Genetically he is, but culturally, he isn't. He doesn't
have the leadership qualities of Tun Razak.
How can he push his liberalist economic agenda through a mindset accustomed
to patronage? Will the UMNO warlords, who has only known survival through
the patronage system of UMNO allow some anointed successor, albeit being the
son of TUn Razak dismantle a system that has provided them with succor? That
would be suicidal.
Najib will be sacrificed rather than allow a system that has spawn hordes of
tenderpreneurs being replaced by an adventurist Najib Tun Razak with a
blasphemous idea.
In short, Najib faces a brick wall and he has nowhere to go. Either he faces
the UMNO firing squad or capitulate. In the 2011 UMNO Assembly, he has done
that exactly- retreated shamelessly. That gutless and shameless position was
effectively masked by his recalcitrant and combative rhetoric.
How will he push his transformation programs through a sea of stubborn
tenderpreneurs and obstinate rent seekers?
So in answer to Richard Cockett, Najib can't transform. He can only dream of
becoming Optimus Prime.

Father of Modernisation and Transformation: Yeoh, Yeoh, Yeoh! Don't
make us puke!

ACTUALLY, I just laughed off and skipped reading reports that Prime Minister
Najib Abdul Razak received the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award from
the World Chinese Economic Forum.
I laughed it off as rubbish, garbage propaganda and silly.
However, some of my friends urged me to comment on this and so I gave it a
thought and decided to give my two-sen's worth to entertain my friends.
Gutless
The forum crowned Najib as the "Father of Modernisation and Transformation"
and this is plain silly.
Najib has yet to complete his first term and he is also the first
"installed" prime minister of Malaysia who doesn't have the guts to seek
the people's mandate to rule.
Looking at the forum organisers and its individuals, it is not surprising
that such a ridiculous honour has been bestowed on such a leader who only
talks but cannot deliver or defend his own policies.
The forum chairman is Datuk Michael Yeoh, a former MCA executive secretary.
There you have it! Another Barisan Nasional (BN) boot-licker at work.
Boot-licker
Yeoh praised Najib's 1 Malaysia platform, his administration's decision to
increase allocation to Chinese schools and the introduction of tax
exemptions for churches and temples, saying the initiatives were proof of
the prime minister's commitment to "fairness and justice".
The praise is grossly flawed and inaccurate. Why?
> Najib cannot even defend his 1Malaysia against his political rivals. When
> reporters asked him whether he is Malaysian First, Malay Second, he is
> non-committal, saying he did not want to be drawn into a quarrel with his
> deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin, who had openly declared that he is Malay First,
> Malaysian Second. What a hypocrite we have for a prime minister, and a
> shameless one to say the least;
> "His administration's decision to increase allocation to Chinese schools
> and the introduction of tax exemptions for churches and temples, saying
> the initiatives were proof of the prime minister's commitment to 'fairness
> and justice'". But isn't "fairness and justice" the natural and obvious
> responsibility of the elected government of the day?
Simply praise
Mr Yeoh, if you are ignorant, please be reminded that any allocation from
the government for the people is not from the BN or its leaders. It is
taxpayers' money and the elected government of the day (not BN or Pakatan
Rakyat or any political party or coalition of parties) is expected to use it
for the benefit of the rakyat, irrespective of race, religion and creed.
There, you have it. Another useless piece of award and praise coming from a
boot-licker who is willing to blindly shower praises to be in the good books
of those in the corridors of power.
Najib has yet to complete his first term of office, has yet to get the
mandate from his people through the ballot boxes and yet the forum sees it
fit to crown him the "Father of Moderation and Transformation".
Puke, puke
What modernisation and transformation has Najib brought?
Only the likes of racists and religious fanatics like Perkasa, Perkida and
Utusan Malaysia are allowed to utter or print seditious words without an
iota of respect for the law.
If you and I were to say the same things as them, we will end up in
Kamunting, served with free food that is only fit for . ask Selangor exco
member Teresa Kok. She is qualified to comment as she had tasted and
reviewed the food served while in detention.
So, Mr Yeoh, don't make my friends and I puke with your silly praise of a
prime minister that has yet to walk his talk. Instead, every day we see the
likes of Perkasa and Utusan Malaysia spewing sensitive and hurtful remarks
against Malaysians.
That is Najib's 1Malaysia modernisation and transformation for you.

'Najib's image soars, but UMNO leaders are not happy'
Harakahdaily Thursday, 26 January 2012 22:20
EXCLUSIVE Jan 26: Pangs of dissatisfaction are being felt among UMNO
leaders who are questioning its president Najib Razak's self-promotion,
while at the same time the party image suffers a steady decline.
Harakahdaily has been briefed by a well-placed party insider that UMNO
leaders were starting to realise this trend following various pollsters'
findings that Najib's popularity has been on the rise, with some saying
exceeding even that of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.
And while this is taking place, other UMNO and BN leaders have seen
their ratings taking a plunge, with Najib's deputy Muhyiddin Yassin taking
the brunt of it.
"If the trend continues, it would only be him who wins the coming
general election. The rest of us can pack up," said the UMNO leader, a
former state assemblyman who lost in the 2008 elections.
Citing the controversy surrounding the National Feedlot Corporation,
he pointed out how Najib absolved himself from the scandal by tasking
Muhyiddin and Noh Omar, the current Agriculture and Agro-based minister, to
handle the heat.
"However, it was Najib who chaired the High Impact Committee which
approved the project. Some even questioned why Najib did not stop the
Auditor General's report on NFC when he had been privy to reports about the
project's problems as early as 2010," he added.
Enter the 'NCT'
Meanwhile, another source has revealed to Harakahdailyabout the
formation of a media agency called National Communication Team, an effort
inspired by controversial image consultant Apco who has been tasked with
boosting Najib's popularity.
According to the information obtained, the NCT is an agency under the
Prime Minister's department, operating from Bangsar.
The source added that NCT is led by Sufi Yusuff, former press
secretary to former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Sufi replaces Jalil Hamid, who served news agency Reuters's Kuala
Lumpur bureau and who is said to have been given the responsibility to helm
the UMNO-owned New Straits Times to prevent any sabotage against Najib.
Explaining further, the source revealed that the NCT was made up of
'advisers' comprised of senior journalists, including Khalid Mohamad, former
chief editor of UMNO's staunchly right-wing mouthpiece, Utusan Malaysia.
It said NCT's original role to prop up the government's image had now
been replaced with efforts to ensure a positive image for Najib.
"Due to this, those in NCT are confused. Who do they report to? The
country or the personal needs of Najib?"

DPM tells BN to go all out to win Lembah Pantai, boosting talk Shahrizat to
be dropped
Maria Begum, Malaysia Chronicle Friday, 27 January 2012
Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin reminded the BN election machinery in
Lembah Pantai to go all out to recapture the seat, prompting talk that Umno
Women's chief Shahrizat Jalil will not be fielded in her former stronghold.
Shahrizat, who is also the Women's minister, lost the seat in the 2008
general election to PKR's Nurul Izzah Anwar and is now fighting corruption
charges against her family over the National Feedlot Centre debacle.
Speculation has been rife that FT Minister, Senator Raja Nong Chik, might be
nominated to take on Nurul, whom pundits say is invincible there. However,
due to the sudden huge surge in postal votes, there is concern that Umno
might resort to their traditional modus operandi to cheat at the ballot
boxes.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported Muhyiddin as saying the fight for Lembah Pantai
was expected to be very keen.
The DPM also accused the opposition of resorting to all kinds of tricks to
keep the seat, especially through the alternative media where it was making
various attempts to run down the BN government.
The BN election machinery must be brave in countering the deceit and lies
spread by the opposition, said Muhyiddin.
Discrepancies galore that Najib and Muhyiddin failed to provide answers for
Yet despite documented evidence and a slew of police reports, Prime Minister
Najib Razak and his Umno party insists there is no wrongdoing in the
RM250mil NFC debacle, where Shahrizat's family was accused of
misappropriating public money including using the funds to buy luxury
condominiums for themselves, high-end residential land, and making cash
transfers to family-owned firms.
Muhyiddin, the Agriculture minister in 2006, had approved and awarded the
cattle breeding project to Shahrizat's husband and children.
In his 2010 report released recently, the Auditor-General has made it clear
there were weaknesses in the way NFC was being managed, but Umno is trying
to squirm out of a corruption probe that can create a shakeup in its ruling
elite.
Muhyiddin himself was accused of negligence in awarding the project to the
Shahrizats. He has refused to call for a Royal Commission of Inquiry despite
growing calls from the public to do so, although he recently agreed to
appoint an auditor.
Umno tries to whitewash the NFC corruption
Meanwhile, Transparency International has ticked off the NFC for a recent
statement it said aimed to confuse the public, advising the Malaysian Anti
Corruption Commission to intensify its probe into all related parties.
DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang, who is also the Ipoh Timur MP, also pointed the
discrepancies in NFC, demanding an RCI.
"There is something very rotten about the RM336.64 million National Feedlot
Centre (NFC)/National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) "cattle condo" scandal -
what with a RM250 million soft loan at 2% interest to promote cattle
production used to buy two units of luxury condominiums in Kuala Lumpur and
another condominium in Singapore, purchase of land in Precinct 10 Putrajaya,
close to a million ringgit expenditures on overseas trips and
extraordinarily high salaries for the family members of Datuk Seri
Shahrizat, Minister for Women, Family and Community Development," said Kit
Siang in a statement.
"Second, that very high-level personalities are involved whether in the
scandal or in the decision-making process resulting in the scandal, and that
the personalities who must clear themselves include not only Shahrizat but
also the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak who was then Chairman of the
Cabinet Committee on High Impact Projects which approved the NFC project in
2006, Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was then the
Minister for Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries, Datuk Seri Nor Omar,
current Minister for Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries, even the former
Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah as well as the entire former Cabinet before the
12th General Elections on March 8, 2008.
"Third, the initial reactions of the various authorities unanimously trying
to avoid touching the NFC/NF Corp scandal with a "barge pole", although the
Auditor-General, Tan Sri Ambrin Buang signed off the Auditor-General's
Report 2010 on 8th July 2011 with copies sent to the various relevant
authorities, including the Cabinet."
