Hi: I'm Erica. I joined this forum because I'm interested in the thought of
Berdyaev but have read very little and so have more questions than knowledge.
Here is one of my questions: Does Berdyaev distinguish between the words
irrational and non-rational? I read somewhere that for B. irrational freedom is
primordial. I have difficulties with this statement. If primordial reality is
irrational, then how can we rationally reflect on it? How can this discussion
group even exist, in that case? But if the primordial reality is non-rational,
then it is not antithetical to reason, just incapable of being fully
comprehended (i.e., rationally).
Any responses to this question would be appreciated.
