Description
This group exists to provide a forum for the discussion of matters relating to the history and archaeology of bells, their framework, fittings and usage.
The group was founded in 2002 by David Bryant who ran it for 8 years. It is now run by Dickon Love and John Cater.
The photo to the right shows the tenor bell at York Minster, weighing 59-1-23 in Bb. The bell itself and the framework and fittings are all by Taylor's of Loughborough, 1925. The bells form the heaviest true-harmonic ring produced by the foundry.
