La Leche League International is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. LLL of Beaumont stopped holding monthly meetings in January 2011.

There is not currently an active LLL Leader in the Southeast Texas area. For a local peer-support group, we suggest the Beaumont Breastfeeding Coalition, hosted through WMCPlaygroup on Facebook.

All women, whether they are currently breastfeeding, pregnant or simply interested in breastfeeding, are welcome to come to our meetings or call our Leaders, regardless of how long you have or plan to breastfeed!

About LLL Leaders: Every LLL Leader was first a breastfeeding mother, and has been accredited by LLLI to help answer questions, give information, encouragement and support to mothers in all stages of the breastfeeding experience; including: getting started, breastfeeding after a cesarean birth, breastfeeding a preemie or twins, dealing with jaundice or weight-gain issues for baby, returning to work and breastfeeding, pumping, nursing through pregnancy, tandem nursing and weaning.

This group is not currently active; but we will hold it in reserve for a future LLL Leader in order to send reminders, directions and other necessary notes regarding our group as needed. This is *not* a chat group. Any message that is replied to by a member will go to the moderators of the group only, in order to avoid unwanted email.

Though we do advocate membership to LLLI, attending all our meetings and other functions, calls to Leaders and subscription to this announcement group are free. Please send an email to BeaumontLLL-owner@yahoogroups.com for more information.
