ssalamu alaikum,

Tapi
mungkin bisa ngasih sedikit gambaran. Trima kash kpd moderator yg meloloskan
email ini.

KSA (kingdom of saudi arabia) adalah negri arab terkaya. Maklum negeri tua dan
memiliki 25% minyak dunia. Bagaimana dg UAE. UAE adalah negara baru. Di Dubai,
malah gak ada minyak. Kenapa bisa kaya? Karena mereka membuka "free zone area".
Semua barang keluar-masuk, bebas tanpa pajak. Kemudahan di mana2. Mau mendirikan
perusahaan, mudah asal punya duit. Nggak peduli dari bangsa atau agama apapun.
FYI, Dubai juga agak liberal. Dubai adalah state nya UAE yg paling liberal.
Tempat solat banyak, tempat maksiat juga ada. Yg bercadar banyak, yg
kebalikannya juga nggak sedikit. Di Sharjah dan Abu Dhabi, tidak seliberal
Dubai. Sharjah adalah state yg mirip dg KSA.
Apa yg terjadi
selanjutnya? Indian tadi dilaporkan polisi dan dituntut hukuman cambuk.

Masalah bahasa
============
masih berbhs arab tanpa terjemahan bhs inggris. Jadi jangan sampai buta bahasa
arab. Apalagi indonesia dikenal sebaga akbaru biladul muslimina fil alam.

Ada kisah menarik. Teman saya dari Syria. Dulu pertama kli kerja di Sharjah
bergaji 1800 AED. Kecil banget utk ukuran engineer di UAE. Tapi beberapa th
kemudian, Allah memberinya kemudahan. Dia membuat perusahaan kontraktor sendiri
dg bekerja sama dg org lokal (UAE citizen). Nggak lama, dia sudah punya uang
jutaan dirham.

Masalah akomodasi
===============
saya belum pernah ke KSA. Tapi sering dengar cerita ttg KSA. Di KSA, akomodasi
muraaaah banget.
Tergantung gaya hidup.
Sewa kamar di Abu Dhabi>Dubai>Sharjah. Semaki kecil kota/state, semakin murah.

FYI, 1 AED = 1 Riyal = Rp. 2500. 1 USD = 3.68 AED
(fixed rate)

Jobs in UAE
=========
Proyek dimana2. Nggak punya taman,
padang pasir diubah jadi taman indah. Nggak punya daerah tropis, lautan disulap
jadi pulau2 yg bernuansa tropis dg bentuk pohon palm. Padang pasir, diubah jadi
pusat bisnis lengkap dg gedung2 pencakar langit melebihi Oxford Street nya
London dan La Defense nya Paris, apalagi Sudirman nya jakarta. Nggak punya
danau, mbuat danau sendiri di tengah padang pasir. Dan semuanya terjadi dalam
kurun waktu kurang dari 10 tahun. Indonesia mbuat suramadu saja, plan nya itu
sejak th 80. Sekarang saja belum jadi.

bergaji rendah. Semua engineer kepakai, terutama civil, MEP, dan IT. Tapi yg
namanya proyek, mereka juga butuh sopir, akuntan, resepsionis, cleaning service,
office boy, security, tukang, mandor, etc. Saat ini pemerintah dubai sedang
membangun jalan rel KA.

www.gulfnews.com
www. khaleejtimes.com

lihat bagian classified, lalu klik jobs atau accomodation

Masalah gaji
=========
mahal. Di KSA, saya kurang tahu, tapi lagi2 kata teman saya yg famili nya kerja
di KSA, pendidikan gratis, kesehatan gratis, sewa kamar muraaaaah banget.

Gaji di UAE utk insinyur (paling fresh sampai paling senior) berkisar 2,000 -
60,000 AED tergantung:
-tingkat pendidikan
-lulusan dari mana?
-pengalaman (adakah pengalaman di negri arab sebelumnya?
-keberanian menerima proyek
-cara "menjual diri" anda ketika interview
-paspor (paspor barat atau paspor non-barat)
-kemampuan bhs inggris dan arab

Sebagai contoh,
1. gaji municipality engineer (insinyur PNS) di sharjah dg pengalaman di UAE
selama 4 tahun, sekitar 9000 AED.

Masalah solat, puasa, umroh, haji
=========================
UAE tidak seketat KSA. MAsjid dimana2, tapi kalau adzan, mau ke masjid, mau main
kartu, mau main catur terserah anda. Kalau di KSA? Semua nya harus tutup ketika
adzan datang.
dikurangi jam nya. Liburan hari raya pun cuman1-2 hari. Lebih banyak di indo,
kan.

Mau umroh/haji? silahkan, tapi gajinya dipotong. Karena gaji dibayar berdasar
jumlah hari kerja anda.
Biaya umroh: visa 250 AED, Bus 400 AED, lain2 (penginapan, etc) sekitar 200-500
AED tergantung kebutuhan
Biaya haji: 9500-13000 AED (by bus). >18000AED (by plane)

Kalau di KSA, ya gratis tho. Paling cuman mbayar busnya saja yg saya yakin gak
sampai 500 riyal itu pun kalo tinggal outside makkah.

Cara2 ke UAE
==========
Indonesia ini negri yg aneh. Engineer di mana2, tapi agen tenaga kerja HANYA
khusus pembantu. Lain dg US yg agen kerja nya khusus utk dokter spesialis,
insinyur, etc.

OK, ini cara2 ke UAE

Penutup
======
Ya ikhwatii, jalan kesuksesan (baik dunia/akhirat) tidaklah mudah. Saya sendiri
nekat ke prancis (Ecole Centrale Paris) utk studi. Saya nekat krn ECP tu
Tapi sedikit demi
Uang baru saya terima setelah 4 bulan.

kampus), padahal lagi musim dingin dg suhu -10. FYI org prancis itu anti bhs
inggris. Lebih baik berprancisan ria tapi belepotan ketimbang beringgrisan dg
cas cis cus.

Bukankah:
Man jadda wajada
There is a will there is a way, insha Allah.

Allahu A'lam,

Hanif, MSc, M.ASCE
Registered Structural Engineer
Sharjah - UAE

Semoga Allah jalla
wa 'alaa membalas dg kebaikan yg banyak dan berlipat ganda.

Dear All,

Saya salah seorang pendaftar beasiswa doktor DIKTI (program Doktor LN)
2007 melalui universitas tempat saya mengajar. Universitas saya

(Saya
masuk di Universitas Korea semester ini)

Maaf kalau terlalu cepat menanyakan mengingat program beasiswa ini
baru ditutup tgl 1 Oktober 2007. Terima kasih sebelumnya.

Salam,
Augie

bisa didownload di situs Dikti. Form ini hampir mirip dengan Form A
Dikti (word file) shg kalau teman2 ingin mengisinya dengan cara
mengisi dlm word file, maka Form A Dikti yg sdh dalam bentuk word file

berdasarkan estimasi biaya-biaya studi lanjut.

living expenses)

-----------

Dear all,
tertabung?

-Terimakasih banyak atas perhatian semuanya-

Dear **********

I am pleased to inform you that you have been
officially nominated as an alternate candidate for a Fulbright Program
scholarship to pursue study for a Master's degree in the United States
commencing with the Fall 2008 academic term. Official and final selection
for this prestigious program is contingent upon the approval of the J. William
Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) in Washington,
D.C., the amount of scholarship funds
available for the 2008 Fulbright program, and your acceptance for admission by
an accredited college or university in the United States.

Please note that as an alternate candidate your
participation in the program is contingent on the availability of additional
scholarships for the 2008 Fulbright program. There is no guarantee that
this will be available. Usually, we will know some time in July 2008 about
your status with the program. However, in the meantime, we have to submit
your application to several universities in the U.S. and process your
application
due to deadlines.

Your preliminary selection as an alternate candidate
in what is widely acclaimed as one of the premiere and most esteemed academic
exchange programs in the world is an acknowledgement of your academic and
professional accomplishments. I am confident that you will exemplify the
same standards of excellence if and when you assume the responsibility as a
representative of Indonesia
to the United States of
America. In doing so, you would
exemplify the guiding principle of the Fulbright program which seeks to enhance
mutual understanding and cooperation between the people of the United States and
Indonesia through educational and
cultural exchange.

Please accept my personal congratulations for your
selection as a new Fulbright alternate candidate representing the Republic of
Indonesia.

Sincerely yours,

Piet Hendrardjo

Program Officer

Dear all,
In December, a few first year and second year students from Wharton are
planning to fly to Indonesia. We would like to meet prospective applicants and
share our experience by holding coffee chat sessions. I am quite certain that we
can have one or more sessions in Jakarta and Yogya, but I would like to know if
there is interest to have one in other cities as well.

Hi Ryza,

   1. Untuk alat peraga kebudayaan, kira kira kamu mau bawa apa? wayang? batik?
Batik memang khas, tapi tidak begitu menarik buat mereka. Juga wayang, tidak
begitu menarik. Kalau aku saranin, coba bawa video pariwisata. Kenalin tentang
Ujung kulon, Raja Ampat ato krakatao, daerah daerah legenda dunia...Selain mudah

dulu...coba japri, nanti ku kasih)

   3. Agak hati hati dengan prosedur administrasi turki. Banyak dialog dengan
keduataan disana. BEgitu sampai langsung kasih kabar dan kasih tau kondisi
disana. Living cost, artinya tidak usah bekerja. Saya pikri dengan menjadi guru
disana, berarti living cost itu 'gaji' anda...mungkin...

   4. gak perlu register di kbri. begitu sampe sana, langsung telp aja.

   5. saya banyak teman yang 'terpercaya n baek disana. Kalo mau saya kasi
emailnya. dia online hampir tiap hari and lancar bahasa inggris and indonesia.

Teman2 yth,
Nama saya Andi, skrg sedang mengambil kuliah di RWTH Aachen. Saya share
terlalu sedikit jumlah lulusan.

sekolah ke US
nomor tes IELTS saya
disana tapi nomornya benar2 berbeda
mungkin efek rollercoasternya Fulbright masih terasa
beasiswa Fulbright
sempat pontang-panting mengurus semua pekerjaan
tapi semua berhasil diselesaikan dengan baik

jadi disinilah saya sekarang...
rolercoasternya pemburu beasiswa, hahaha...
rasanya benar2 sureal tapi itulah yang terjadi

untuk Palupi dan kakaknya,
selamat saja

Subject: [beasiswa] [BUTUH INFO] Alternate Candidate Fulbright?

             moderator:

living expenses)

-----------

Dear all,

tertabung?

-Terimakasih banyak atas perhatian semuanya-

(^_^)

Dear **********

I am pleased to inform you that you have been

officially nominated as an alternate candidate for a Fulbright Program

scholarship to pursue study for a Master's degree in the United States

commencing with the Fall 2008 academic term. Official and final selection

for this prestigious program is contingent upon the approval of the J. William

Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) in Washington,

D.C., the amount of scholarship funds

available for the 2008 Fulbright program, and your acceptance for admission by

an accredited college or university in the United States.

Please note that as an alternate candidate your

participation in the program is contingent on the availability of additional

scholarships for the 2008 Fulbright program. There is no guarantee that

this will be available. Usually, we will know some time in July 2008 about

your status with the program. However, in the meantime, we have to submit

your application to several universities in the U.S. and process your
application

due to deadlines.

Your preliminary selection as an alternate candidate

in what is widely acclaimed as one of the premiere and most esteemed academic

exchange programs in the world is an acknowledgement of your academic and

professional accomplishments. I am confident that you will exemplify the

same standards of excellence if and when you assume the responsibility as a

representative of Indonesia

to the United States of

America. In doing so, you would

exemplify the guiding principle of the Fulbright program which seeks to enhance

mutual understanding and cooperation between the people of the United States and
Indonesia through educational and

cultural exchange.

Please accept my personal congratulations for your

selection as a new Fulbright alternate candidate representing the Republic of
Indonesia.

Sincerely yours,

Piet Hendrardjo

Program Officer

Halo Mbak Putri,

mempunyai pertanyaan serupa.
