Dear all,

Few minutes back I called Mabroor Wassey, chair of Bangladesh Debating Council-BDC and who is right now in Melbourne, Australia ( Local time 5 am) representing Bangladesh and BDC at this year Australasian Universities Debating Championship 09 ( Australs) gave me this breaking news

" Mabroor Wassey has became the first Bangladeshi ( living in Bangladesh and represented by any Bangladeshi university) to BREAK as an Adjudicator at Australs"

He chaired 8 debating rounds (out of 8 rounds) and eventually became a part of Top 24 Australasian adjudicator' s panel. Australasian Debating Championship is regarded as the second most prestigious debating championship in the world for the university debaters.

Before his present position as the BDC Chair, Mabroor Wassey served as the President of Islamic University of Technology - IUT Debating Society. He participated Worlds in 2005, 2007 and in 2008. WSDC in 2007 and as a coach in 2008, broke as the Adjudicator at All Asians 2008 and ranked 26 as an adjudicator in the AUDC 2009.
We are delighted to have this achievement from the Chair of BDC.
