With guidance from park visitors, I was able to relocate the Common Redpolls,
feeding in alders in the alder swamp beside the path, by the corner where Sunset
Beach is.
The birds would descend every few minutes to drink from a small shrubby pool. If
you are very quiet, you can watch from just a couple feet away when they come
down near the path.
No Hoaries were confirmed, however. I observed the birds between 2:40 and 3:20
pm.
