First of all, I agree with you that it is a serious violation of the
second commandment. However, the reality is that that violation is
widespread in the PCA, and I have never heard of anyone disallowed
because of that exception. Our own Christian Education bookstore for
the PCA has sold materials that include pictures of Christ. We have
allowed exhibitors at GA with materials that have pictures of Christ.
We have prominent conservative churches in the PCA which have stained
glass windows with large pictures of Christ prominent behind the
pulpit. So while I agree with you that it is a violation and I think
might make for a good discussion, I'm not sure it's the battle to fight
in the PCA right now.
