The Big Bend Filipino-American Association,Inc. is based in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. The only organized Filipino ethnic group in the Big Bend area, it was established in 1981 and became a not-for-profit corporation in 1992. The organization actively supports charitable, educational, and humanitarian causes within and outside the community and the Philippines. The BBFAA Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 to provide educational assistance to college youth in the Philippines. In 2005, BBFAA was the lead organization in establishing the Asian Coalition of Tallahassee (ACT) which is now the largest multi-racial multi-ethnic group in the City. In 2008, we officially adopted the motto: Kaisahan, Bayanihan, Damayan (Unity, Cooperation, Involvement). In 2011 BBFAA established the Educational Grant to provide educational assistance to deserving US High School Graduates/Undergraduate Students currently enrolled in the Florida State Educational System.

The BBFAA membership is open to all who share common interests with us. We welcome individuals who are interested in the Philippines and the Filipino culture. Being part of the bigger community, we believe that diversity is crucial to a strong society. We strive to uplift the status of ethnic minorities through education and promoting awareness of the underrepresented groups.
