BayCHI is the local San Francisco Bay Area chapter of ACM SIGCHI. BayCHI and the Interaction Design Group (IxDG) formed this BOF in March 2005 to continue the effort begun by IxDG in 2004 to help build a sense of community among interaction design professionals in the Silicon Valley. The Interaction Design BOF (IxD BOF) serves professionals who practice or do research in interaction design by disseminating information about best practices in interaction design and helping to bring relevant research into practice.

Although BayCHI membership is encouraged, it is not a requirement for participation in BayCHI BOFs. Meetings are free and open to the public.
