Feel free to print/forward all or any part of this letter to your
groups/readers/clients/networks/friends as you see fit. I think everyone,
whether
therapist/therapized/or realizing that we're each both of these, has an
opportunity to
benefit from this.
Serious spirituality often benefits from a little lightening up. I want to
share the
following strong and often comic source of entertaining wisdom with the group.
It
snapped me into positivity very quickly and invited me to stay there. I'm sure
that many
others will be elevated by this book—but if you're very sensitive, be aware that
it does
have a few jolts within!
Most of this book gives the electrical charge of a roller coaster ride,
but wrapped in the
calm of a meditation session. How does the author do it? I don't know. Fearless
Puppy on
American Road is transfictional (the author's term). It's a true life story and
a rare self-
help manual, but it is presented as an adventurous thrill-ride that reads like a
Vonnegut
style fantasy novel—if Vonnegut had been grafted to William Burroughs and Carlos
Castaneda. Featured in it are several saintly Tibetan Lamas, a man who is his
own uncle,
specialists in smoke, mirrors, and invisibility, lurid sex, oxygen orgasms,
Christian ethics,
Jewish ritual, heavenly Hell's Angels, phony preachers, domestic violence and
solutions,
racist killers in America, Canadian race wars, Native American wise men, angelic
witches,
benevolent heroin addicts, magical birds, lesbian musicians playing a rock
concert for the
deaf, the musician raised by a multi-ethnic group of prostitutes, martial
artists battling
neo-Nazis, the modern-day Robin Hood, and many other strange and wonderful
people.
The book would be worth more than its price no matter where its financial
profits were
going, but it felt even better to read it knowing that all the profits
(including author and
publisher percentages) will be used to fund Tibetan Monks and Nuns, and assorted
spiritual education centers.
I found more info on the project, a few sample chapters, reviews from
newspapers, etc.
(also several 5-stars on Amazon), ordering info, and more at
www.fearlesspuppy.org
This book gives an orgasm to the heart and brain that lingers. I'm going
to try to make
mine permanent. I hope you also get something very positive out of Fearless
Puppy on
American Road. Truthfully, I don't see any other possibility.
Thanks for your great work. Please keep yourself happy and healthy! All
that good work
can't be optimally done unless you have a optimum Self to do it with. Breathe
deep. Stay
well.
Blessed
Be, JL
