CANTON — Ernest Willard Bumgarner, 82, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at
his residence.

A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Henry and Selma Singleton
Bumgarner. Ernest was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a
Sunday school teacher. He provided firewood in the community and he loved to
garden and enjoyed reading the Bible.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bobbie Jean Blaylock Bumgarner; one son,
Dane Bumgarner and his wife, Shannon, of Canton; two daughters, Sherry Saams and
her husband, Steve, of Canton, and Shelia Cook of Candler; two sisters, Joan
Pless of Canton, and Ivalee Elingburg of Candler; and one granddaughter, Jessica
Saams.
