Hello and welcome to Basically Bluedorn, a list that I sincerely hope is a blessing to all who participate. My goals are to promote the ideas of Harvey and Laurie Bluedorn as they have outlined in the book 'Teaching The Trivium', and to afford a place where those who endeavor to educate their children at home classically with a focus on the Biblical model can give and receive encouragement.

Basically Bluedorn is a Christian support group to discuss the methods and ideas of Harvey and Laurie Bluedorn. Other authors/methods that may be discussed in relation to how they might be meshed with Teaching the Trivium are: Ruth Beechick, Charlotte Mason, Cindy Rushton, Ambleside Online, Christine Miller, etc.

Homeschooling classically can be different! It can be less hurried in the younger years! It can be Christian and focused on His word! You do not have to read the 'Great Books' to your children to be a classical homeschooler...unless of course, you want to. Each needs to find God's path for their family and choose from there.

So...step on in, relax a little, and still call yourself Classical! Afterall classical education is not a curriculum, or set of books you must use, it is a model or our framework not only in subjects themselves but in our child's development. "Bend the book, not the child!" ~ Ruth Beechick
