Welcome to the Barrie Astronomy Club's website! We are located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada and consist of a group of amateur astronomers with varying degrees of experience from rookies to seasoned veterans. The Club is a great place for you to learn about this great hobby and maybe even learn how to use that telescope you've had in the basement for years! Currently, we have almost 90 members, with over 1/3 of that going out to our monthly meetings.
The meetings are organized via our online mailing list and you can join that list by simply sending an e-mail to barrieastro-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. The meetings are held in the Community Meeting Room upstairs at the Zehrs - 472 Bayfield Street. Observing sessions are also held monthly around the New Moon. You can contact Dave Robitaille at the Astro Mechanics store in the Bayfield Mall (www.astromechanics.com - 725-0625) as he organizes these.
The executive committee for the Club is:
TBA - President
Dave Robitaille - Vice President
Robert Adye - Events Coordinator
We would be very happy to see you come out to a meeting or an observing session to see what all the fun is about!
