I went to my family reunion and got information on my g-g-g-
grandfather but it stops at his birth & I can't find exactly when he
came to this country.I did find that he was supposed to have been
born in Clutton, Somersetshire, England.
All the relatives that could have possibly helped fill in on this
are dead.
Anyone out there that can help I have the lineage from him down to
myself.

Hello -- I just joined this group and my great-grandmother was Sarah
Banfield, from Harrison Co., KY. Married Samuel Fisher, Harrison
Co., moved to Grundy County, Trenton, Missouri in 1877. I have some
census records that I'll look up for you if I can find my way back
to this site. What do you have in way of Banfield family from
Harrison Co.,

Hi, my name is Bruce Banfield and I really don't know to much except
the following. My Father was born Ronald Falco Banfield in Marin
County CA. 1940. His Father was also born there. I have been told
that we were (The Banfield) were either part of the Donor party or
the Wagon train that found them. Thats about all I know. I now live
in Cleveland, OH. Most everyone is unreachable or not helping with
giving me any information. Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

P.S. I understand that there is a Highway called Banfield Highway up
in Oregon. Just thought I'd pass that along.

Meghan,
Your not alone. For the first time a few years ago my daughters met
one of their cousins named Banfield. They are 13 and 15 and their
cousin is 15. As I found out there are a lot of Banfields here in the
U.S. We live in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh.

Hi Shelley,
I've traced my GGGGGrandfather
Thomas Banfield back to Mason Co. Kentucky in 1796.
There is a Thomas on record for a land grant in
Jefferson in 1781 but this does not say where the land is
only this gathering was in Jefferson. I've been trying
to tie in what I know about the Banfield's in the
U.S. but I haven't had any luck beyond this point.
Although I do have a lot of bits dating as far back as the
1600's in the U.S.. This is the first time I've heard of
another Banfield being in Kentucky aound the 1790's. Can
you give any more details on this fact? I also have
info on a Samuel from the mid 1700's on.

Bryan

Hello,
I just wanted to drop a line to tell
you exactly what my Banfield connections were.
Samuel Banfield, sometimes spelled Benefield, lived in
Maryland or Virginia. I believe he might have been
involved with the American Revolution, but there is no
concrete evidence. He and his family moved with Jeremiah
Plummer and his family who lived in Frederick County,
Maryland to Jefferson County, Kentucky in 1790. Jeremiah
Plummer's wife was Nancy Ann Banfield. Nancy Ann was a
daughter of Samuel Banfield. Children of Samuel Banfield,
Sr. are Nancy Ann and Samuel Banfield, Jr. Samuel
Banfield, Jr. was married to Dorothy Spalden and their
children are; Alethea, Sally, Ann and Emma Bandfield.
Althea Bandfield was married to Jeremiah Plummer's son
John A. Plummer. It is believed that they were married
in Frederick County, Maryland. Alethea died in 1809
in Jefferson County, Kentucky and John Plummer died
in 1830 in Clark County, Indiana.
Sally Bandfield
married Thomas Jeter and had 10 children before dying in
Clark County, Indiana.
Ann Bandfield married a
Huckleberry.
It had been reported to me that Sam Jr. went back to
Maryland and Sam Sr. stayed in Clark County until he died
at the age of 100.
As you can see my info on the
Bandfield family is sketchy, but I hope to concentrate on
it more next year.
Sincerely,
Shelley Hill
